Your A2 plans for 2024

I‘ve had a similarly challenging year like you Steve and so A2 plans got put on the back burner really so I am carrying these over to 2024.

Fix the loose heat shield I have just found whilst fitting new jacking point adapters
MOT due at end of Jan so Cataclean in just before that
Collect and start work on refurbing a rear axle kindly being held for me by @Ami
Fit the wiring loom I made up for the lumbar on my upgraded seats
Make up and fit looms for the seat heating and fit the new climate unit beautifully restored by @jp.oog
Finally fit the new front struts I have had waiting in the wings for 18 months now

Thanks to all for help and advice over the last year and Happy 2024 to all

Best wishes

J
No rush Justin at all, its in the corner of my warehouse waiting for you, see you for a coffee & a chat in the new year.
Ami

Hopefully to attend more meetings in 2024 after going to the first meet "Almost in the Lakes" earlier in the year. Most of my to do list has been done but I still have to do my rear number plate lights which will mean removing & swapping out the lower tailgate section. Enjoying the daily running.
The 52 plate A4 will need a coat of looking at this year.
Best wishes to all members for the New Year.

My plan is to book my car into WOM for a full professional appraisal, get any urgent work sorted and then plan an ongoing restoration. It's a bit of a drive from here but I think it's worth it

I will hopefully get the FSI MOTed and on the road, I’ve already done the cambelt, water pump, oil coolant etc and removed the inlet manifold to repair the snapped actuator arm and clean the flaps and valves.
It needs an abs sensor and the wishbones were rusting out so I have some cast ones waiting to go on
It’s needed a little bit more work than I initially thought but almost there now!

And after the FSI is sorted I’ll be changing the gearbox and doing a full suspension refurb on the TDI

Somewhere in the background maybe I’ll even be able to finally nail down the mysterious engine light on the 1.4, but for the moment that is eluding me and I’m fairly sure it’s not indicative of a serious fault 🤞

@Indi You are a very clever young man, I am sure you will sort all 3 cars & get them to perfection before 2024 is ended,
If you need any parts let me know.
Have a happy new year

Indi,
I will be doing the FSI overhaul you mention in the spring, could I pick your brains over parts please

Indi,
Have sent you a message if that's ok
