What is a "minor fault claim"?

My Fault. No other Vehicle involved. No Injuries. Very Minor Damage.
Ah gotcha.
I thought I had one a couple of years back, on the A1, just South of Washington services.
I was towing our caravan (with Audi A4), traffic was being moved over to the outside lane by the police due to a previous accident in the inside lane. Traffic was understandably crawling at about 10mph, I looked behind and saw the VW Touran following about 60m back. Indicated, left it a few seconds, then pulled out. Got rear ended on the caravan rear offside quarter by the Touran.
Incredulously I pulled over to the hard shoulder, he followed eventually. Didn't get out, he was consoling 2 crying daughters on the back seat, crying due to the accident he said. To rear end me at that speed/distance I maintain they must have been already crying already and he was looking behind him.
He says I cut him up, had previous declared damage to his car and took ages to come up with his insurance details, with many a c**k and bull story along the way.
Anyway, our car wasn't involved, just the caravan. But our insurer, LV, took his side of the story, didn't want to see diagram or photos and blamed me.
Suffice to say, we cancelled with LV. Wife had been with them for years, but you only find out how good/bad a company is when there's a claim.
LV are seriously BAD.

The insurance for our A2 1.4TDI has increased from £280 to £482 this year.

We have 8 years no claims and declare modifications ie: engine chipped by up to 25% and after market alloy wheels ( pepper pots) and larger 15'' tyres/winter tyres.

The cover is for fully comp, business use with 5000 miles per year overall and 4000 for business. we have protected no claims.

We searched via Go Compare and prices were very similar.

Ive had to reduce my annual mileage and increase the excess to bring mine down to last years amount.

That CtM quote looks very low. I wonder if it is click bait. I've found in the past that clicking through to the insurer's site gives higher prices.

Today I got a reply from the ASA re my complaint about Green Light Insurance. I mentioned earlier in this thread that after spending ages completing their online form for myself and 2nd driver I got an error screen with a note to ring them. So I rang only to be told they don't insure diesels!

This was the company that does say they upfront they don't insure BMWs or cars worth less than £1,000 or more than £30,000. Should have taken note that they were a "picky" company when selecting their customers.

ASA agreed and said
we have decided to resolve your complaint through the provision of advice to the advertiser. .... and provided them with guidance on how to ensure that their advertising complies with the Codes both now and in future.
