Audi warranty campaign code

Hi all,

I have a reply from the local dealer relating to the warranty job they did for Ada:

TPL 2016707/6

I hope this is of some help if you are yet to have the hinges replaced or the local dealer is giving you the run around. If anyone quotes this, let us know if it was beneficial. Cheers

Hi just to let you know my little beast goes in for the hinge repairs on the 12th, so a big thanks to Mike and his friends in high places for getting this sorted. So anyone in the Grimsby area that needs this doing Grimsby Audi should just be able to get straight on with it as i've paved the way now

Well got it back today all done:D, it was just starting to get dark so will have a good look tomorrow as the door and wing got painted;), will put some photos of the before and after when i get time over the weekend. Thanks again Mike for getting this pushed through ;).

Hopefully now anyone in the local area should not have a problem + one of the service reps her sister has an A2 and she's going to check hers over the weekend and i told her to join here as well BIG PLUG :cool:, she also liked the look of the A2OC badges

Wow! That old hinge looked a bit nasty Phil! That's not off spray on the door rubber post fix is it? Hopefully just wax residue. ;)

No just a bit of polish from the bodyshop, its all off now the cars back shinny again. Its really funny because the dealer didn't want to wash the car as it had just been painted even though there was polish residue around the handles and mouldings.

PS think that got rusty because the door had moved and was sticking out past the wing
 
Do the hinges actually have to show fatigue for them to be replaced?

If Audi are doing a complimentary replacement, I'd rather have them done before they change there mind.
 
Being a man in the know Phil; are you impressed with the finish? (i.e. hinge fixing kit and moreover the colour match).

Yes they do - if no cracks are apparent, don't try to claim a repair to something that isn't in need of repair!

I just got this back from them. Is there anything else I can do?:

I have spoken with Rafiq who has been liaising with Audi.
Unfortunately the Warranty department have confirmed that this is no longer covered under warranty on your vehicle as it expired
105 days ago going by the chassis number on your vehicle.

If you would like to contact Audi regarding this you will need to speak directly to Audi Customer Care. 0800 699 888

I will have to get back to you with a quote to supply and fit a new starter motor.
I hope this is okay?

The new hinge looks very good and the bodyshop that Audi GY are using is very good colour on silver was very good as well, as mine is silver thats why posted photos as it shows up the replacment part (before and after)

What warranty are they referring to? How old is your car? The understanding from Audi UK is that ALL A2s, regardless of age and warranty status are covered.

Hi Mike

They said they fixed the problem before out of 'good will' and now they have stopped that policy 100 or so days ago. Not sure if it means my car and how old it is or all A2s. It's Finchley road Audi. Not sure if I should give up on this or not. What do you think?
 
That is nonsense - get me the name and details of the service manager and I'll get Audi UK onto it. If the cracking is bad, then go ahead and press for the work to be done - send me a photo of the cracking if you can.
