Looks like you can put me down for a set. Spoke to my brother today he thinks he will be based in brussels and the firm are giving them a van so they are driving that makes things better he doesn't have to stick them in his suitcase lol, they are on a 2 week turn around, out there for 2 weeks home for 2

Cheers Phil

Phil does that mean your brother can bring back a few FSD sets in his van for the UK members?

Group buy

Hi everyone.

Here is the message that I left on the german A2 forum. Thanks to BretteK...for the help and translation over.
I post the same message here so everyone knows where this is leading. No misunderstanding.

Hallo alles.

You will have to excuse me as my German is "somewhat" limited / basic.
So here is the news:

- Price for the FSD kit 2100-4041 is 390,-€ taxe included. Price is only valid if I can get 15 buyers. Offer is limited in time. Valid till 02/03/2009.
- I can deliver free to Trier / Bitburg area, part of Belgium and around Metz to Valencienne for the frenchies.
- I will be at Techno classica in Essen on 02/04/2009 and can deliver some kits there. Free of charge. I leave my phone number for rendez-vous either inside or, better, the parking area.
- Package can be sent via the post office.....but do not know the price. All I can say is that it's WAY over the German postage price. Weight might be an issue too. But I can try.
- Payment: I will request a payment of 200,-€ prior ordering, the rest as soon as item is handed (cash) or prior shipping. My bank account information as well as name and adress will be provided. Paypal is possible but you will have to include a 3.5% increase. If you back out after the order: no money back!
I can help, but I am not a donator nor a bank institution! Everybody can check my trustworthiness thru Ebay as well, under: amg230slk.
My full name is on this site, the A2OC and the Audipassion forum.
I understand the persons that have a problem with sending money to someone you dont know, but.... I cannot order AND pay for someone who says: I want a FSD Kit. Too many people dont have a "parole" anymore.
Your choice. The 15 kits will cost 6000,-€.
- My benefits: 1) Same reduction as everybody (390,-€) for the kit.
2) My contribution to the A2 forums and it's people.
3) An headache trying to do this. My wife is going to kill me!!!
No more than that! And I do not want to hide away. Europe is not that big .
Hope this clarifies some of your questions. Contact me on: [email protected]

Gruss, Didier

Group buy.

Hi everyone,

I will pass the information on the French Audipassion forum. Hoping to meet the minimum requirement of 15 sets.

Just would like to thank Bretti kivi for his wotrk here.

Ltr, Didier

vos costen?

To save me reading the entire thread, how much are these costing UK members?
Have we agreed how to get them to UK?
If I join the group buy, I could deliver in the north yorks/south yorks and M62 between hull and madchester.

Well it doesn't look like my Bro will do a currier service to the UK sorry guys. Didier or fbi will let you know details of how to get to my brother or for him to meet you closer the time which ever is easier

Cheers Phil

Hi,

As I understand, the kits are now available at 390 EUR per unit, subject to the minimum order and deadline requirements.

At current exchange rates this equates to approximately £348.08 per unit.

I'm a bit hazy about the final cost (including delivery). I wonder if anyone further south has any input into this, because my postcode is likely going to cost more for courier purposes.

Cheers,

Martin.

... there has been an exchange of emails with Koni Germany. Essentially, they will not honour warranty if the product was bought in another European country.

This stinks.

There would also be no opportunity to get a bill set up in your own name (this is important for various reasons, not least accurate documentation) and so the number from the German side is now approximately zero.

Transport costs Didier was going to look in to, but right now, this deal is not going to happen.

Bret

"...they will not honour warranty if the product was bought in another European country."

Surely that is in breach of EU regulations and, as such, is illegal?!

they will offer the standard 2 year legal requirement, but the point is that FSD carries a theoretical lifetime against manufacturing defects. Would be nice to have for a relatively new technology...

I was going to send a very bitchy email to Koni b.v. (Head office) and ask stupid questions like "well, I moved from one European country to another. That means I no longer have a warranty or I need to go through the subsidiary in the other country. Who will want to see the car and or the parts, which in itself is extremely difficult. Please justify this?"

oh, and should I trust an "advice" website that cannot spell the word "warranty"?

Bret

"Traders aren't required by law to offer you a guarantee or warrantee."

That is not the point! The core issue is refusing to honour a manufacturer's existing warranty.

If Koni's discriminatory approach were both legal and enforceable it would severely compromise the integrity of their brand image and their sales throughout the world.

I too was on the verge of signing up to the group buy but Koni's perverse attitude has put me off ever buying any of their products.
