My Night breakers has lasted about three years and 3000 km. Still running.I had 2sets of night breakers in under a year. And they weren't much brighter than the Philips Eco I have now if I'm honest. YMMV

Just spotted some Philips 100 watt H7 bulbs. - http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-racingvision-h7-twin
I've had mixed results with 'unbranded' bulbs which are cheap but not always cheerful but I'd expect these to be spot on for build quality and beam pattern.
Only for off-road use of course
Cheers Spike
Hi apologies for the direct reply, this is my first post on here after attempting to change a headlight bulb at the weekend, which as many others have commented isn't a 5 minute job. I'm half way there using a make it up as you go along method, wishing I have seen your post above before starting. The 2 screws that you have mentioned, other than what you have said above, any further help that you can offer on locating the screws? I remember seeing 1 screw pretty much central to the top of the headlight unit, and another towards the inside of the unit (towards the centre of the bonnet) but again on the top of the unit, are these the ones? Again apologies for the direct message
I just bought TEN H7 100watt bulbs for £12 on eBay. I will let you know how they work out but that is cheap enough to make it worth the gamble. (Especially with 7 A2s in the family!)

I fitted two straight away and they are still going strong today!!!!!@Birchall, how did these work out?

Hi
i have to point out again that 100watt headlight bulbs are illegal. But to me in an A2 the just seem to compensate for the poor illumination of a 55w.
As for ebay, just search for H7 100watt and there are lots to choose from.
Steve B
Steve,
I agree that they are illegal, I know that and will run the risk !!!
There is so much crap on Ebay, so I was hoping for a link to a bulb that a member as found to be good, a recommendation goes a long way in my book.
Cheers,
I have bought these from 5 different sellers over the years and they have all been fine.
It is so long since any have blown that the old link is not still there.
At that price it is worth trying anyway. Just stay away from the ridiculously cheap ones, look for the number sold too.
