My new Ebony Black 1.6 FSI Sport

Ahh ha, thanks Matt. My car most likely had a Audi Tape fitted from new then? It now has a Concert II, fitted by myself.

Most likely I think, Yes.

As a side note, if you'd like to find out exactly what was fitted to you car from the factory, you can use Audi's erWin system to give a list of all specified option codes. This should tell you exactly which radio was fitted originally. You could also look for service history from when the car was serviced at Audi on there. All very interesting. It was around £6 for an hours use last time I used it, which seems pretty reasonable given the amount of info and workshop manuals you can download.

Regards,

Matt.

Well I got 360 miles out of the last tank which is just over 40 mpg so pretty pleased with that.

I have also managed to get the first tank of Shell ultimate in it as every time I went to fill up before there was only normal fuel. So I must try and plan better to always use super.

Still got a slightly lumpy idle and annoying hesitation every now and then, so will keep investigating.

Well got my reversing camera fitted and the leads all run today but ran out of light so will hook up the connections in the morning, and hopefully job done.

Also have a few LED bulbs to fit.

Mind you not impressed with screws in the number plate lights all rusty and just disintegrated when I tried to take them out.... Will attack them again tomorrow

Well I got to use the Osram Nightbreakers in anger last night in the unlit lanes and they are far better than what was in there originally. So well pleased

Quick question... I have the front chrome bulbs, but without taking them out again to check, are P21 and PY21 bulbs exactly the same?

Im going to order some rear ones and have noticed one version is cheaper...

Py21 bulbs are listed as offset pin bulbs.
P21 are listed as stop and tail or reversing bulbs.
So you must get the right ones. The rear indicator bulbs are identical to the front indicator bulbs. So do get the ones that are listed as A2 indicator bulbs. In other words the PY21 bulbs are the ones to get.

Well fitted some blue tinted convex heated mirrors today as I'm sick of them not clearing in the morning and not tilting far enough down when parking to see the wheels.

So well pleased with the results, love the look of blue tinted glass and can now see the wheels when parking against the kerb and have to wait for the morning to check if they clear alright.

Not yet as the car was filthy, but will get some up soon.

They are so much better to drive with much better view all round

The AC wasn't working very well which was getting annoying with a black car and black interior on a sunny day.

It appeared to be rubbish on full setting but with Econ button pressed it worked ok.

Got my mechanic to check it and it had 680 grams of fluid in the system instead of 510 grams that it should have, he refilled it to the correct amount and lovely job nice cold AC. So it shows that I didn't actually need a re gas due to kissing it but someone had put to much in and that also had a bad effect.

He also diagnosed a faulty second cat and this is being changed today, so I am hoping for smooth idle and running later this afternoon

That's something I hate most! A terrible service that previous owner new nothing about, or didn't care.

Until I sort the annoying chrome that cuts into your hand every time I change gear I have a little stop gap.

Does anyone know can I get the gear shift symbol out? Or is it a new gear knob?

I think they can be prysed out with a flat head screwdriver. Steve B did ot on his project when changing to a 6 speed. Have a look at his thread.
