My 'not meant to be a project', project

Hi Nagah

I agree with you regarding the shock/spring combo. I'll stick with what I've got now but will certainly be considering the rear anti roll bar. It was on my list of future mods :)

I was unsure whether or not to post for fear of breaking up the flow of your ace thread Steve.

A quick one to say a) it is a thoroughly enjoyable read, b) to say that all modifications and the attention to detail is to be applauded and c) your A2 looks fab and to keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Darren

Hi Darren. With comments like that feel free to jump in anytime :)

Today I finished off the alcantara door pockets I had from Steven Garrity. They are alcantara with Bentley speaker grilles. Really like them. Thank you Steve :)

Yesterday I made a start on changing my interior from leather/alcantra to red leather.

It was a hard decision to change from the alcantara as it looks very smart but the red leather will fit better with my project.

Photos to follow.

Well what can i say, cant wait for the photos steve as seen another members silver A2 with red leather and looks stunning and i imagine the leather will be so much easier to keep clean with the lil ones ... I take it your alcantra interior will be up for sale soon along with those 18s which i also love the look of but must admit i do miss my pepperpots already ;)

The little ones don't travel in the A2 at all so the A2 is our clean car :)

Yes, silver and red leather is a good colour combo in my view.

Things are moving slower than I'd hoped because of other commitments but the plan is

- Colour coded votex kit (bought)
- Red leather sports seats (half fitted)
- Refurbished S3 wheels or TT v6 wheels if they don't sell

Should look good once all finished.

My Avus S3's have found a home so final plan is going to be colour coded votex kit with 18 inch TT v6 wheels and red sports leather.

Will update the thread when it's fitted :)

Photo update

Today I found a spare 10 minutes and fitted the TT v6 18 inch alloys. To say they fill the arches is an understatement. Steve B I can't imagine how you've fitted 19's.

And here's a quick one of the red leather i fitted a few days ago. Haven't had time to clean the interior so please excuse me. The leather needs a bit of a refresh so I've ordered some furnitureclinic colour balm and will report back once applied.

Looking great Steve,
I've seen these alloys before lol, and had contemplated the same, nice job mate
Are they 35' profile btw
Cheers Jeff

Yes they are 35 profile. I think one of them might need air but they are so thin, how do you tell?

Ps if anyone is concerned that these parts are coming from a broken A2, they are not or at least are not from an A2 I have broken.

Next up is the colour coded votex kit but my wife has ideas for work on the house that will take priority.

The keener eyed amongst you may notice that I have also removed the rear tints. I didn't want the car to look too boy racer, especially with the impending bodykit.

A little later than expected I've dropped off the votex bodykit to the Paintshop.

Should be picking it up towards the end of the week.

Looking forward to getting it fitted as it should transform the look of the car.

Really liking what you have done and must admit I'm a big lover of these in silver.. Hence my own.. Nice clean example

Smooth colour coded grille fitted this evening. Not 100% on it yet. Opinions welcome

I think it will make more sense once the votex kit is fitted.

Looking awesome Steve; can't wait to see the impact of the fitted kit. Good job, especially as it's not even a project car... ;)
