My 'not meant to be a project', project

Smooth colour coded grille fitted this evening. Not 100% on it yet. Opinions welcome

I think it will make more sense once the votex kit is fitted.

If it was me i think id go with painting the chrome surround black as its a little to busy on the silver and i think black would make it stand out better and give more contrast and even go as far as doing the Audi rings aswell as may set it off better too, worth having a play around with even with black tape to see how it looks ..

Looking awesome Steve; can't wait to see the impact of the fitted kit. Good job, especially as it's not even a project car... ;)

I think those days are long gone now mate, although the exterior will pretty much be finished once the kit is on.

Would like to do a bit of re-trimming of the interior plastics in matching leather. Then it's just mechanical....Rear ARB. De-cat exhaust, EGR removal and an MYP or JDD gearbox...oh and fit one of the rear disc axles I've got here. Another couple of years work I imagine.

Yeah I was toying with the idea of the black surround, will see what it looks like with the votex kit.

Hi Steve
Your car was already a very nice and well looked after example. The Votex kit adds the finishing touch. Top work Steve

Thanks Mate, was good to see you again the other day. Sorry the little one is such a wild child, as you can see she keeps me busy :)

No worries. It took me back to when my girls were little. Great memories. Haven't had time to fit the front stowage tray yet, thanks for holding onto it for me. Steve

Looks fantastic Steve; from those large and rather nice wheels which fill the lowered arches perfectly to the Votex kit, Cupra splitter and modified lower and main grilles. Hats off to you Sir on an awesome job and a great personal statement. I look forward to seeing the car (and your good-self) at ADI.

Thanks Darren. It's not finished yet though. Have a couple more ideas to make it more individual.

Yes, definitely catch up at ADI.

Colour code the wind deflectors? Or is that actually legal due to visibility? Looking smart.

I had actually thought that, I think it would look good but the visibility on the a pillar would be non existant.

Steve,

I love all the incarnations of your project car. Excellent work. I like the chrome lines on the slatted grill you had on the original front. Do you know how best..in numpty speak for me..this look can be replicated?

Proceed to Halford
Purchase tacky chrome strip on a roll
Cut to length
Clean surface with alcohol wipe
Stick on
Bobs your uncle

I plan to do this as doing a lot more driving at night and fed up with bulbs blowing and the headlights are not the best, I assume these were sourced from a well known internet auction site?

Yes Paul thats the one. They were from a company called C N Lighting and are good quality for the money. I used the H7R 6000k kit and the light is nice and white.

This won't be to everyone's taste, but I like them. Recently I have done some modifications to the interior.

Fitted leather trimmed doorcards but did a chop and change of colour to have the top part in platinum and the door pockets and armrests in soul black and alcantara.

Have also upgraded the interior lights to LED's.
