Hi Murdo, I first met Spike two years ago when in the barn and Timmus was doing some work on my car. It was a really great weekend and I loved chatting with Spike, he was a real backbone to the club and his knowledge on the A2 and where to find files on even more was fantastic. He guided me a lot in my early A2 days and I really appreciate him still.
I understand the reasons for this year’s format but it would be great if next year we could get back to a two day event with Timmus in residence. It really helps to get the numbers up.
I don’t expect to make it this year as I just had a knee op and I’ve been told I won’t be driving or at least not driving far by then.
Hope your knee is healing ok and you will soon be back on your feet.

We do hope to go back to the two day format next year. Whether we can have a Timmus residence will depend both on Tom's travel plans and us being able to find a place for him to work as the lady who owned the camp site sadly passed away this year, but we will see what we can do 🤞

Hi Teresa, sorry I can’t make this year in Richmond(25th wedding anniversary in Crete)
I intend to keep it free for next year though, and want to do 2 days, preferably staying at Rokeby for 1 night.
Good luck this year
Regards
Brendan

Morning Teresa,

I’m regrettably unable to attend this event now. The boys have since taken up skiing at the local SnowDome and are really enjoying it. As a family we’re making the most of a recent offer of £40 for 20 hours ski pass throughout September. Every spare few hours on a weekend are now taken up this month improving our trying to use up the 20 hours offering.

I hope you all have a great time and I’ll see you all at the end of the year meal if it’s still going to be the Green Man Inn near Silverstone, just need the dates to put in the diary.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Teresa, our son has a cricket presentation on Sunday, so disappointingly we wont be able to join the road trip.😕

Hope all goes well.

I've emailed Rokeby Inn regarding our lunch booking. Will keep you posted on confirmation and any menu requirements. We've started meetings at Rokeby previously. Very handy for the A66 and excellent car park and facilities.

Through Hury then turn right to Grassholme
Over the reservoir and right to Middleton in Teesdale
To Stanhope then Frosterley

Hello everyone. Not long now till our wee meeting in honour of Spike. For those attending the drive on Sunday afternoon could you please screenshot or copy the drive itinerary for reference in case we are separated. Dave Myers and I will have VHF radios and will support the tour front and back. We're fairly reliable ex 999 services 😀. The weather is looking to be favourable too . Safe journey to you all and for those making a weekend of it and attending the Peak District event , have a lovely time.

I'm on my way but I forgot about york races so I'll be a little late!

Thanks guys... emergency tyre is on, now slowly but steady, avoiding roadworks and potholes 😬

Ouch!! I feel for you, hope you get home safe. Watch out for potholes in the exits from service areas too, we went over some absolute teeth-shakers while accelerating up to motorway speed and there was no way to avoid them. Yes, Newport Pagnell southbound I'm talking about you

Not long home ourselves, 350 miles is quite enough for one day! Thank you everyone that made it a very enjoyable weekend, lovely to see friends old and new :)
