New owner, old problem

He said that because Audi hadn't serviced it properly a runner had jammed, in turn this had caused the cables to mis-align. So he removed the glass panels, re-aligned the cables, greased the runners and Bob is your Uncle.
I am bloody furious that all Audi wanted to do was replace it at a discounted cost of £1600.

I wonder how many opensky sunroofs have been scrapped when an easy fix was possible. Trouble is that up till now, there has been a cheap(?) option from one dealer in the UK and one in Germany. Maybe no-one has really analysed the root problem and found a solution.
(Oh please don't reply and tell us all for the umpteenth time how you got yours fixed by Audi Worthing because you had a FASH - It doesn't help.)
Cheers, Geoff

thing is, though, that documentation is extremely hard to come by and I'm not surprised then that many mechanics say "sod it" and don't even look.

If this mechanic has done a good job perhaps the forum should send his details around widely to post 10 year Broken Sky owners I'm sure others would like theirs repaired too!
