Super easy.
PM me if you want some photos taking before I put the inner alu panel back tomorrow morning.

Its the prep you need to do to get at the frame that takes the longest
Edit(09/03/24 update to post open to the floor look for the heading Removal of window frame) :) 👍

… took my “new” FSi for a hustle round the Surrey back roads for the first time, where it really felt in its element. It’s a real hoot to drive, at speeds that won’t (usually) cause you to lose your licence. Loves to be revved, a proper junior warm hatch. I think this is going to be fun…

Oh yes, I'm sure it will be ...
Mac.

I did almost 500 miles yesterday to Cambridge and back - total driving time of around 8.5-9 hours.

I can now say with further confidence that the lumbar support retrofitted into Audrey’s (early) sports seats by Ian (@Proghound) and Tom (@timmus) is definitely worth having, for the benefit of anyone else thinking about this. Before, I couldn’t do more than about 2.5 hours without my back and neck aching. This would have been an even bigger problem yesterday due to the amount of additional concentration required to drive safely to the appalling weather conditions!

The armrest makes a massive difference to my comfort too.

Colour DIS tells me the entire trip used around 16 litres of fuel each way at an average consumption of 67.5mpg, which is not bad considering I had the cruise control set to the legal limit the whole way, other than the usual wet weather M25 traffic - if I drive without it on the hills I can get slightly better, but over such a long distance this isn’t always practical.

Hello all,

Well…

Today I found something that recently went missing:

Whilst walking up to the local Morrisons I noticed something in the gravel short of the round about:

Just 1 mile away from 2Work towers. I immediately checked the traffic and crossed over to the central pedestrian island for a closer look:

Walked a little closer when there was no traffic about:

Yep, most definitely an almost impossible to replace genuine OSR Votex jacking point cover. Getting to safety I checked the damage to understand if it’s was repairable:

I’d say that is certainly repairable. What I could t see on the underside (or in the vehicle) was evidence of the strips of 3M VHB tape, maybe I didn’t apply any but certain I did. Anyway, lesson learnt; a few blobs of silicone will be applied once I’ve made this damaged item look perfect again.

Whilst this incident ruined the look of Project EUD, I’d say that this can quickly resolved and put behind me as experience.

Kind regards,

Tom

wow thats lucky! and unlucky at same time!

Yeah that right, up past Okehampton training camp, went for a little photoshoot!
Nice part of the country - after 7.5 hours on the motorway from Scotland the last 15 minutes from Sourton to Tav'k is a pleasant way to relax, even if the weather can be abundant up there at times!

I hope you bought a lottery ticket !
