Wont start. Fuel pump/relay

No normally I dont park it where it was, Its always been on the level because its not used everyday, just yesterday evening I returned from MOT station in a rush, there were other cars on the drive and moving everything is such a faff so left it facing uphill, thinking I would be first out in the morning. Little did I know what lay in store for me this morning

Last night it was parked facing uphill, the nearside rear is slightly lower also as the drive turns as it ascends as well.

In which case, a scan with no DTCs would, (probably), confirm that, and should there be a DTC, that would help too.
Not sure about electric pumps in diesels, but only BAD, AUA and BBY have fuel pump relays, which could be a clue.
Mac.
No DTCs other than Right Rear Door issue which has been ongoing for a few weeks . Have also been reading the fuel filter change threads and think It might be prudent given my luck right now to get one of @depronman 's filter screws. Paul PM on its way to you . Thanks

Hi Mac,

Yes the fuel lines that pass through the TDI sender unit are on the offside, underneath the rear right seat. Think this is the same location on all A2s but cannot confirm as not taken a petrol fuel sender out for years.

Kind regards,

Tom

Cleaned the area around top of level sender with hoover and detailing brush... Was quite a lot of dirt collected here.. now hopefully ok to start removal process without letting dirt into tankView attachment 119733
That locking ring does not want to budge , 😩from just tapping at the grips a lot more undiscovered dirt has appeared . Another hoover needed before having another go. Need to watch fingers as the aluminium lip on the body is sharp

After a little more force , and.bravery it's been undone . Fear of breaking the plastic.tabs πŸ™„.. looking inside the tank there is quite a bit of dirt sitting on the bottom .

All back together ... No change πŸ˜”. Cranked a few times ... No Dtcs on scan...
That's a bummer. Still, seems safe to assume fuel is available, so next step is to find out how far along the system it is getting.
I'm not a diesel guru but even your before doesn't look too bad to me especially if it's not been out before.
Mac.

Morning Neil,

That’s a nice clean looking fuel sender Sir. Was the cleaning fluid easily passing through where the fuel lines connect. If so then suggest the next step of fuel filter.

As the engine run on an easy start product then this suggests that the injector loom is fine as the easy start product ignited. I’m no expert in this particular area but the only thing you seem to be missing in the chamber is fuel. Fingers crossed the filter swap allows the fuel to reach the engine.

Kind regards,

Tom
