Well it's been a funny old day, with some successes and some "fails" as the youth say these days
I put a battery into the Grey one and it started straight up, which is great (WIN). I turned the wipers on to clear the screen and then realised I had removed them (FAIL) A mate with an A2 and a lathe and milling machine is going to try and suss how to fettle them up.
Then I put the original (good) CCCU back into the grey one, and cleared the faults on it, and tested the locks. Everything worked exactly the same as it did in the blue one, except I got no fault codes. This had me confused, but did give the possibility that the door locks on the blue one are actually okay (Huge WIN).
I came to the realisation that I didn't really know exactly how everything (Locks/Remote Central Locking) were supposed to work, so I took the drastic step of reading the owners manual (can you imagine!)
So I put the good CCCU back in the Blue Audi, and with Owners manual in hand I went through all the steps to see if everything worked as it should, and low and behold, it did (WIN). So it is showing fault codes, but working correctly. I have read Timmus saying that it is a myth that CCCU's are plug and play, so this is not massively surprising, and I can certainly live with it.
With that happy A2 progress made, I had lot's of other things I wanted to do before heavy rains arrive tomorrow, and the garden becomes a quagmire again.
The C1, which I have just changed all the injector seals on, still won't start (FAIL). I'm sure it's air in the fuel system, but can't seem to purge it
So I checked all the wheels were turning freely, and manually manoeuvred it to it's new parking spot.
The generator which I have just serviced and put a new timing belt on started and ran okay (WIN)
The Land Rover started without too much difficulty (WIN) and it was lovely to hear that Rover V8, even just for a short while.
The Tractor started, and the clutch wasn't stuck (WIN WIN), so I was able to move the trailer to make room for more cars.
Just as I got all that done it started trying to snow/rain, which was not forecast for here at all today (FAIL)
BLUE A2 jobs outstanding: Change rear door release cable, clean all seats, change gearbox oil, adjust gear change mechanism.
