I have the same theory, present a clean car and the tester starts the job expecting the car to pass.Cleaned the interior; clean cars always pass.
Pre MOT scrub was my job for today but it looks like i’m rained off

Hi Little Dog,I have a newish Audi cable, just a couple of years old. Shouldn’t have fatigued so quickly. Could be a crud problem as I wasn’t familiar with aluminium oxide then.
Car is starting fine with its replacement battery so I will check it all out when I change the engine.
Good luck!View attachment 121343
Dropped car off with local garage. Booked in for today but the Easter weekend is a busy time. I said there's no rush. There closed Friday and all next week could be long wait.

Nice to have canine company.Today I had a sort out of all the bits I picked up from Newton Aycliffe yesterday. I got home last night and realised I had an engine in the back of the car that I had to get out by myself It was more like a semi controlled drop onto some blocks on the ground..

In theory I was collecting an engine and gearbox, but came home with all this in the back of the car! The lad just wanted shot of everything, so I had the lot for £200. Not visible is a brand new Borg & Beck clutch as well, and a good dipstick and tube. I want the gearbox for the blue car, and this engine has a good tandem pump on it, so I don't have to strip the one out of the blue car to try in the grey one.
I don't really need the engine, but thought it would be handy to have one so I can have a look at the injector loom and injectors etc, see how all that stuff goes in and out.
I had to get everything 1/2 a mile down a muddy track to where my workshop is, that was fun with the engine on a shonky sack barrow!

Thanks Ian. Yep, the 1.2 will very much remain the work horse mileage wise for me.Goodness me Erling, the Countess must have bitten you hard! Lovely looking motor, but you're a braver man than me I'm glad you're staying firmly in the A2OC fold though with the 1.2 and the temporary runaround.
