Now I need to find the other bits and most importantly someone in the London area that can complete the upgrade!

If you have the standard 4 spoke wheel then I'm not sure if it's possible to use the multi function airbag unit with it. Always thought the 'multi function' wheel incorporated an interface module which the multi function buttons plug into.
Correct Spike - this clearly shows the button arrangement for the 'official' A2 mfsw:
Yes, I used official in apostrophes for a reason! The photo I posted is indeed of an A4 airbag, but it's installed and working in an A2 as you can see.
Timmus is your man for this sort of thing...
The A2 shares its MFSW electronics with the A8 of the same era.
Thank you, Skipton.
Actually, the A6 (4B) is where the most common DNA is to be found, electrically. The LIN to CAN controller used in the A2 is actually an A6 part (4B denotes this) and yes, it's also used on the old A8 too.
Where the A2 and A8 do share a lot of their heritage is in the bodywork and spaceframe area - both were built at the same plant in Neckarsulm using the same laser welding techniques.
The club has just lost one of its members to the A8 because he wanted an "A2 Daddy Edition"! I believe John spotted Tank in a car park only last week.
Apparently so - if they'd ever done an Avant version of the A8, I'd be joining him. Couldn't live with the inflexibility of a saloon car though, even one with as big a boot as the A8.
