Today I.....

Here are the dates IMG_4580.PNG

Today I had the front suspension overhauled. Bilstein shocks and springs, Meyle HD drop links, all the rest genuine Audi parts. I only drove it a couple of miles after collecting it from the garage but it seems a different car. The suspension before must have been totally shot!

The A2 is now officially retired from daily duties so the next job is clearing out my garage at home and tucking it up in there. Big plans for it as and when funds allow as my wife suggested that I "pamper it and get it how I want it". This is going to be costly :)

Today I. Started the bi xenon conversion , the hardest thing to do was to split the headlights

Do you plan to do anything with the old main beam position?

I kept my old main beam connected and so on full beam I had twin main beams!

I am assuming you don't have DIS in the car? If you do are your fitting resistors to the main and dipped beam circuits (to prevent the "bulb out" warnings?) I only needed a resistor in the dipped circuit because I had kept the filament main beam operational.

The all black will look interesting.

After getting rid of my TDI as I am now only travelling 30 miles a day to work and back I now use my 1.4 petrol as a daily driver but it's taking its toll on the condition am used to keeping it in

I dont need any resistors on the dipped beam, I use the original feed to the 35W ballasts and do not get any warnings. And I also keep the original high beam to maximize the output.

... car started after being left alone since October. Now to move it to the new garage... there's only one problem: snow still lying and it's on Summer tyres. Hmmm.... main roads are clear but the onset of melt means the backyard is soft as hell. No way I'm going to try lifting it there. Hopefully by Tuesday the road here will be clear and then I'll go get the winters dropped on so it can play removal van over the next couple of weeks.

Well this weekend actually! I managed to get some time to pamper the twins and very pleased with results, always rewarding when you've spent time and effort and you look back at your hard graft!

Jeff,
I have to say that look stunning together, loving the matting gecko in the light weight yellow peril

Today I worked on some more, tutorial videos for my A2 YouTube channel. Although I came into problems, firstly the wind was crazy so the camera blew around and secondly I snapped a clip off of what I was filming :( . I've removed the headlamp connector many a time, but I guess 14 year old plastics gonna get brittle (had to be when I was recording though!). Feel free to post any of the videos on the forum. Although most of the early ones will be basic stuff.

Today I got a set of 17" S-line rims back from powder coating: I am planning to replace the 17" Bolero wheels on my Fsi and back to the S-line Spec. The Boleros will be moved to the Tdi. Next question is what to do with the A1 !6" wheels?
