Today I.....

I have an article by a company called Hothouse (who no longer seem to be in business) about the logics. Here's a bit:

The Upshot
So we had a one and a half hour timeframe to install a thirty foot
aluminium*clad ramp, fifty feet of raised, aluminium*clad decking, a raised,
aluminium*clad deck inside the pod, re*rig the pod doors to hang wider
than normal, two custom built lights (that fit in the pod ceiling without
marking it) and get the A2 car inside without making a dent or a scratch
anywhere...

The reason for the ramp was to clear the zig-zag queuing slope with glass panels lining it. The floor in the pod in the ad is a false floor over the seating in the pod (it contains control systems so couldn't be removed). The higher floor also gave sufficient clearance to get the A2 in (15mm!)

Today I (or rather my A2) ... passed it's MOT, no advisories :D

Simon.

That is a useful characteristic of an A2.

They are the easiest cars to pass an MOT.

Not saying they always pass but in 16 years of multiple A2 ownership I have only ever had them fail on bulbs or ball joint / CV seals!!!

With all of the other older cars I have owned (lots) the MOT visit is really scary, taking the A2 is much less scary.

It's only a short journey to the garage so the car was stone cold and I did wonder if the emissions might be a problem but no issue. (I had replaced the air filter at the weekend as a precaution though!)

Mines off for mot today and I've copied for a stone chip off a fiesta st piling past every body down the chevrons in the road ..... Deep joy

OUCH, that is dreadful.

I know stone chips can be repaired / touched in, but that is on "normal" cars and not on ones that are like yours.

Sorry to hear that.

No , it's for the paintwork . The tak system stuff is an sio2 topper that I use on the glasswork to get stuff beading off as well as on ceramic coatings . Seems to work . Zymol is good stuff but not long lasting durability wise

Today we started work on my friends missfiring 1.4 AUA, shes in for a full head rework , port n polish ect ect , first thing to note was all the exhaust valves were burnt out but can you spot the bigger problem and id imagine the route of the missfire ...

Haha it's trying to be a three cylinder !

Yh she sure was Laughing my socks off

Surprisingly it ran well once you got it reving and even with the exhaust valves burnt out and the ports full of carbon it wont no slouch and after of weeks of trying everything thinkable to solve the intermitted low rev missfire this was the final straw tearing the top end apart and will be back soon better than before id dare to say ..

Today I noticed my FSI that I use daily has now done 170,000 miles. I purchased the car with 20,000 miles on it so that's 150k in my possession. Still goes very well and averages 50mpg week in week out, slight variation in summer to winter unless I run the 15" Pepperpot's in the winter as they increase the economy about 5%. Cheers Mike

Are the 1.6 FSI more fuel efficient? I have a 1.4 petrol and I am only achieving early 30s mpg

Yes they are more efficient and slightly cleaner hence the slightly cheaper tax price. Also 110bhp rather than 75bhp. But far more complex engine.

Got in and drove my A2 for the first time in ages, you forget what infectious little cars these are for the money, cheap road tax, great detailing for the year they were invented, love it, roll on the summer socials!!
In fact as the pic says 'they're magic'
