Today I.....

Agreed, but the A2 is not a racecar and so I would be amazed if the downforce created by the spoiler does anything much anyway.

It cannot affect the CD (drag) because the FSI and the rest are all exactly the same shape body and so they have the same CD disregarding the spoiler. So if one or the other improved the CD then why have two different shapes?

I'm prepared to be corrected but My understanding of the larger spoiler was not to increase downforce but to reduce pressure drag by reducing the wake turbulence. This would effect cD.

If anybody with an FSI in azure blue is planning on fitting a votex rep I will happily swap tailgates.

Yes, the spoiler does affect CD of course, but my point is if it improves it why didn't they fit it on all A2s? They all have the same shape.

The difference in top speed across the models is not relevant either, it is too small a difference and in the UK and most of Europe max speed limits make it meaningless.

The tailgate is not a simple bolt on job, the wiring does not have a connector to be released and so has to be cut and spliced back in under the headlining.

Gave the interior a really good deep clean in prep for outside tomorrow and the new G316 to be fitted on Monday and fingers crossed no more 17439

The painter I used, just took a picture of all of the connections and undid them and replaced them afterwards.

Much more effort, but a safer option.

OMG, Scraping a car with that pedigree is dreadful.

Was it already partly stripped when you saw it?

It should be saved not stripped !!!!!

Think the front was partially apart like the underwear was off and the bonnet and a fog light that's all , I did ask if I could buy the full car but he said no hmm 36K though what a terrible sight

Today I fitted the pepper pots with the michelin crossclimates to try and eliminate a road noise, unfortunately looks like bearing but after watching the forecast it's a good job I did :-D

Today I... download and installed an app called 'myaudimobile', it's from Audi. Once you have have inputted enough personal data and your vin number your away. Amongst other things (not brilliant) it gives you the option list that your car was specced with from factory.

It's allot easier than deciphering the sticker codes.

Well, today I bought myself a grand's worth of 2003 automatic Golf.

10 days ago I broke my ankle in several places, have had a week in hospital and came home with much metalwork in my leg.

I won't be driving anything manual for many months and want to keep relatively mobile.

Got a nice smooth pre-DSG slushmatic and am reminded of that lovely feeling of solidity you get from a Golf, even one with 86k under its wheels.
