If you are doing the huge job that is changing the wishbone, it would be amiss not to.Today i picked up the wishbone at the local Audi dealer, together with a rubber bush. Should i have bought the front bush aswell or are they easy to reuse?
Hi Jonross,HI TOM JUST SEEN POST SO YOU CAN PUT 2 STROKE OIL IN WITH YOUR DIESEL.
I have an arrangement with a private motorcycle dealer. As such, there is no internet link that I can post, sorry.Yes, I'd have liked to know the cost and supplier, Tom?
For me, Sport seats are the difference between comfort and a legal form of torture. I cannot sit on the standard seats for any more than about 20 minutes; they're crippling. What a difference in terms of comfort levels with the sport seats.
Hi Jonross,
Yes, you can mix a small amount of 2-stroke oil with the diesel. It results in smoother running, lubricates the fuel injectors, acts as a detergent and reduces carbon deposits building up in the combustion chambers, on the injector tips, etc. There's a lot to read about it in this thread...
2 stroke oil in diesel...anyone tried it?
Spent some time talking to a friend who has been doing this on his 140k mile 1.9 golf for the last 10k miles and he said he mostly noticed how much quieter it ran. No real change in either mpg or power but then the backside-dyno wouldn't be sensitive enough to detect it. He did mention if his...www.a2oc.net
To summarise, you shouldn't just put any 2-stroke oil in the tank. It has to be of a specific formulation.
API TC, ISO L-EGC, JASO FC.
If you find one that conforms to ISO L-EGB or EGD, it is not suitable.
It needs to be put into the tank at a ratio of 1:150. So, for every 15 litres of diesel, you need 100ml of 2-stroke oil.
Cheers,
Tom
Oh, yeah, unless it's written off in some horrendous accident, there's no way my A2 isn't doing another 52,000 miles. My A2 has just reached the moon and I have every intention of driving it back to Earth.I love your confidence. Not surprised at all, you know your car.
Anything between 1:150 and 1:200 is fine, so 250ml into the larger fuel tank is all good. I use the strongest recommended ratio, which means 200ml into the smaller tank. 200ml and 250ml dosing bottles are easy to find on eBay, whereas a 280ml bottle isn't!Interesting I'd always factored in 250ml per 42 litre tank but its really 280ml?
So this would be suitable.

Yes, that type of Shell Advance 2-stroke oil does conform to the required spec'. In fact, I've used this stuff many times before. However, at £15.50 per litre, it's extremely expensive. You can usually find it at about £9 per litre. So this would be suitable.
