I will double-check with DS Motorsport but I believe it's all there.
Not sure what happened there as I had the whole front and rear suspension renewed inc new lower arms and alloy housing pressed in bushes Discs and pads everything in under a day yes up on ramp ..would be a nasty job on the floor jacked up ..for sure .This may help:
Front suspension overhaul
The last couple of days were spent renewing the components on the front of my sons A2 1.4i, this is a pig of a job and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We started at 3pm on Friday, worked until 9.30pm, then Saturday 9.30am to 8pm, Sunday was just about tidying and finishing the little bits...www.a2oc.net
Hi guys
Just sorting out what I need to be able to get my arms changed to cast ones.
What parts are needed other than the arms to enable this job to be done?
Thanks
Hi Darpod, I replaced mine two years ago, a few new tools were bought but mainly everyday spanners and a set of axle stands ... not sure if the link below will be any use to you.
Front control arms.
Today I ... Project Resurgam, an early start this morning and I could barely contain the anticipation, everything was lined up to install the front control arms ... all parts delivered, the tools were laid out, WD40 and breaker bar at the ready  The plan was to leave all the bolts tight...www.a2oc.net
But at least you will have future proofed both great job done ?Thanks all ?
Getting both cars new arms done along with cam belt, aux belt and water pump, so big bill for me next week ?
And in the cold of winter. I just remember not being able to feel my hands at one point. Not sure what happened there as I had the whole front and rear suspension renewed inc new lower arms and alloy housing pressed in bushes Discs and pads everything in under a day yes up on ramp ..would be a nasty job on the floor jacked up ..for sure .
That’s the idea, spend now while they don’t need it and hope that they both be good to me long term! But at least you will have future proofed both great job done ?
That’s very true Tony? ....but one of our old a2s had 117k on original ball joint that’s a good few years motoring not sure what the expected life would be depending on motorway driving v potholed country roads I would suspect ..we have mainly the latter ?One thing to bear in mind with this change is the future cost of bottom ball joint replacement.
Cast arms= changing the whole arm.
Pressed arms= change just the end at a fraction of the cost.
Tony.
