Today I.....

Good on you Stan sounds like it will be good once it’s done. I’ve got to have a look at my A2 rear suspension at some point . Hope there isn’t that much work to do … I’ve already got lots to do

I know just what you mean. New timing belt kit and water pump (not sure on the oil pump chain / tensioner) yet. And the OSS needs some work too ?

Very quick wash over to get the rid of some grime from the last 2 months, silver car wheels changed, driver door check strap replaced and hard touch door lock swapped. Blue car, front spacers added for pepppots and sorted dodgy window switch.

Productive afternoon

Love them pepper pots

Cried a little at my stupidity. Snapped the back casting on a new tandem pump as I hadnt realized it had ever so slightly pinched the coolant hose beneath it. It gave way at about 15Nm. Big Groan.

That is indeed bad news and rather costly

I know. Brutal. Back on with the old luk pump for now. New one ordered. Grrrrrrr.
On the plus side I thought I’d somehow rung the threads out of the hole in the head when it gave. At least that’s not the case.

Got The Mechanic to fit the sport seats into the tdi 90. These were snaffled from a Facebook breaker a few weeks ago, They have the usual Sport wear patches, but have come up very nicely after a good going over with the upholstery cleaning machine. I also cleaned the butt juice off the driver's seat belt.

I've put the original pink leather ones on the bay of dreams. Couldn't begin to price them, which is why I didn't list them here;

I’ve heard of shocking pink but up until know never seen it .,truly shocking ??

Today I picked "pootle" up form the garage after having a much needed cutch (1.4 petrol) was looking at the history its never had one at 120k miles. Also had a rattle sorted which was ARB bushes. Cost was over £600 which is more than I paid for the car by a lot, but sicnce buying it for next to noting I have been working through all the major jobs and this is the last one, I hope. All the other work was DIY, but my bars full of junk at the mo and I just diddnt fancy this one.

Sorry it's not A2 related but I wanted to share this anyway. My Volvo XC70 had problems with the parking sensors. They would beep continuously when speed was under 10mph or they would just stop working. Used Volvo Vida to determine which sensors were faulty. Tried everything, new aftermarket sensors, used Volvo ones, in the end, new Volvo ones, new control unit. They would work occasionally, but you just couldn't trust them. The last couple of days they seem to be working just fine, and it seems that the problem might have been caused by water entering into the passenger footwell (which has quite a lot of cables running underneath. When in Sicily I noticed that the carpet was soaked. Apparently, this is due to a design fault where water would enter the cabin because of a clogged drain and drain hole (due to leaves and other debris). Once this was cleaned and I got most of the water out of the footwell, it was just a question of having the whole thing dry out.

Even though I have spent many frustrating hours taking the bumpers off and have spent a small fortune on sensors, it still seems like I managed to fix it in the end so it still feels like a small victory. I might even start loving that bloody Volvo :)

A known issue in most Audi's with the battery at the front. The two drains block and the the area fills with water. Several littes. This then enters the car on the passenger side (rhd) and takes out the comfort control module. If you have an automatic you loose the gearbox control as well.

I have washed my late Chrismas present :).
Sourced a set of genuine Audi A2 SE wheels to replace the SE wheels with severe curb rash on my A2. It was cheaper than refubishing my wheels.
Anyone wants to guess how old the tires are??
