So that's another £600 in parts for the driveshafts alone!

However tempted I am, I just can't justify the cost until Tanks gearbox blows up.

I just bought a 6 speed gearbox from a Skoda Fabia RS. Same box as the one Kane built into his car. 700 Euro delivered on my doorstep here in Denmark from Germany.

I need to trace down the remaining parts for the "transformation", but getting there.

Other projects are a KW type 1 coilover suspension, new type windscreen wiper and sprinkler nozzles and finally an MTM chip.

More to come.... :)
 
Why not spend a bit more money and upgrade the bearings while the box is out if thats possible ?

Hmmm, from the reports of UK dealerships, it seems that noisey transmission and this particular box go together and are a feature!

I may well just keep the standard box and fit an uprated clutch, as mine is slipping now.

So, where to find an uprated clutch? Sachs seem to do only the standard diesel ones.

Thats lasted well it started slipping last June

To be honest, it's lasted really well, considering the number of slipped second gear starts I do.

I think another track session in October will see the end of it though!
