I saw six yesterday (not counting ours), didn't wave as I was in the Passat. - is this a record outside the socials.

ALL were moving and four were silver!

Now I'm getting addicted. I spotted a Cobalt Blue one (52 reg) parked outside a house on my travels, so I posted a flyer through the letterbox! I hope I got the right house!

4 A2 s today here in Alkmaar I flashed and waved as I thought it was my wife at the traffic light in front of me when I found an almost identical A2 as ours only 1 nr difference in the numberplate ours is 99-FX-?? the other one was 97-FX-??.
The lady driving stopped asked me if there was something wrong I apoligised told her I thought my wife was driving the car in front of me .
I also gave her one of my flyers so hope to meet her here on the forum.
The other A2 s I saw I did not get a chance to give away a flyer.

The highest number I saw in one day was 9... but that is because I do 100miles every day on the M25 (and they were all driving as well and not on a truck!)... But my average per day is usually 4 or 5... one going my way and four going the opposite way.

Mal2002-don't they keep them in the boots of A6 to save space on the trailer!.

I would presume due to small numbers then your only likely to see 1 or 2 at a time on a trailer.

And why do Audi wrap all TT's in a fancy plastic on the trailers when lesser Audi's don't?.

I saw a whole transporter full of A2´s once... all silver and going to the local Sixt Car rental agency...
I once heard that they started wrapping the car´s to save on the wax that´s normally on all cars (and apparently not too good for the environment)....

Great - to save on the wax they wrap them in very environmentally friently plastic!

BMW wrap the X5s as they come in from the factory in the US by sea.

The reason they wrap TT's in plastic is to avoid the car getting any scratches/stonechips during transport. Their was a magazine article on it a while ago.

Personally I think this should apply to all cars and not just the more expensive ones.

On a slightly different note, when my parents bought a vw polo a good few years ago now, they were unloading the transporter and theirs fell off the top ramp, they never told my parents about it until a year later when the car started to rust all over (vey bad repair)

The amount of plastic for the A4/6/8 would probably be outside the scope of their environment policy - or too expensive.

The TT is easily identifiable under wraps-maybe not so much the A4/6/8.

They could do the A2 in a food bag!!!!

Just getting back on topic, I left a leaflet on Monday in Center Parcs car park in Sherwood. It got rained on all week so they probably just got a soggy piece of paper....
