Good tip...

I Think if you warm the badge up first with a hairdryer
it will soften the adhesive and make it easier to remove .

Thanks lads... I'm going to remove only the bottom badges... I believe the car would lose some of it's prestige image by removing the "rings"

Cheers,

Ian

I warmed the boot panel when putting my A2OC badge on and obviously got to close to the 'I' on TDI, so it started to slip! Warming eases the badges away nicely.

Phil, keep the rings - looks stark without it.

Like others, I am debating de-badging the '1.4TDI' and 'A2'

Yes i think they was always going to go back on just thought i would throw it out there, as i had taken them off and didn't have any to replace them with, so when i took the photos it was there and you don't get the chance to see it without, still think i may go for the bigger rings as it looks easier to clean in between the rings ;). Watch this space

Cheers Phil

If you do go for bigger rings, just check the curvature of them, as some versions have a definite curve to them.

Cheers,

Mike

just a thought...

How about removing the 1 from in front of the 1.4TDi badge and replacing it with the 2 from the A2... to really confuse the boy racers! ;)

i am thinking of doing the same thing as is hard to wax around them

Now, if you really have the inclination, i have used earbuds to get to the edges right up to stuck-on badges in the past. They work well, but you need time, lots of it. Oh yes, and blue skies of course, lol. Seriously though, works a treat, as do old toothbrushes to remove grime, :D.

oh yea aliminium not magnetic! silly me
keep the ring i was goin to loos myn but now iv cahanged my mind the a2 and fsi badge has gone, brought the car like it looks much better without them.
you can use anything like an old crdit card/mobile top up card to remove them but make sure its not important as it can damage the card a bit sometimes
