A few pics from my latest mod (open sky)

But isn't the 1.4 (not TSI or TFSI) from the Polo the same engine with only 75hp as the A2 engine?

No sir. There are different variants of the same engine. The inlet and exhaust manifold are both slightly different, but the rest looks the same as the 75 BHP version.

I am amazed by this I put a new bumper on this morning and was dead chuffed with my effort I am sure when the job is finished you tell people you have put in the opensky yourself they will probably think you are take the p#*# where not worthy

now I'm interested! Even at 100bhp, I'll be very happy, but it might be cheaper to swap my car for a 1.6FSI. Since I'm no where near as skilled as you are, I think I'm going to call those back street boys at Stealth ;-)

Finally an update. I had a little family vacation so I haven't had the time to finalize my project. Today I did the last assembly work and the result is awesome. I think the open sky makes the car look more complete even when it is closed because of the dark rook on the silver car.

The next little project is fitting a body kit. It is still at the dealer in the UK where I bought it, so if anyone knows a good way of shipping it from the London area to Denmark please let me know.

RNS-E and no stainless steel pedals?

nice job, very nice A2 :)

Cheap ways of getting stuff from London to Denmark? there aren't many. SAS (if you're a silver member) is probably the most reasonable way.

Brilliant!

The only thing to finish off your mod is a pair of A2OC badges on the rear door rubbing strips.

Hi Kitora.

Well done on the conversion it looks really stunning.

How did you get on with the 100+bhp 1.4 16v petrol motor. Did you get all you had hoped for.

I'm on a similar mission to tune the 1.4

WOW what a job this has got to be the ultimate mod , is that an a4 stereo in the dash? and did you have to lower your heater controls to get it in?

the car looks great

Cheers Phil

The stereo is the RNS-E and many people (some at least, in Germany) did that mod.
If you allready have a double-DIN dash, it is easy otherwise you must do the conversion and lower the climate control and so on.
And you can take the RNS-Efrom several Audi models.
The Lambo version will right fit in! In all other cases, you have to cut the front into the right shape that it fits.

I was at the point where I was about to put in the engine. The original A2 engine was out of the car, and the engine bay was ready for the new engine. However the flange towards the transmission is different on the Polo engine, so I had to put the A2 engine back in.

It would be interesting to find a DSG transmission that would fit the Polo engine..... :)

No can do. I have put on a couple of S-Line badges there...

I have installed a body kit since the last pictures, so the car looks much better now.
