I'm still down to go, but who else will be there?

If it turns into a general no-show I'll have to consider dropping out as that way I can save some fuel and get my new superdrive fitted to my iBook

Come on people...
Im looking forward to having a chat to you about Nurburgring !!!!

Hope very much it won't be a cancellation as we are looking forward to the drive. Even if it is we intend to do one of the routes. I downloaded and printed the internet version (30 odd pages) to learn about the routes.

Hi folks. Sorry I missed it today - I was driving a 1954 Citroen Light 15 to and from Beaulieu - but thought of you lot in this nice weather...

I Would like to thank everyone who attended the A2 Drive around the Cotswolds i was very close to cancelling this event due to lack of Interest ..

Im so glad that i did'nt as i have made some great new friends its always great to put names to faces on the website ,all day there was plenty to see and lots of things to chat about the whole day was a complete success we only managed to take a few wrong turns but it all added to the fun of the day ......

We where also very lucky to be asked if we would like them to remove the bollards so that we could park the cars infront of the Pittville Pump Rooms in Cheltenham which was an honour as there was a wedding on at the time one couple even insisted on having there picture taken with the A2's in the shot with the Pump rooms in the background LOL !!! This made for a very impressive shot with an amazing backdrop in the picture !!!!!

Cant wait to see all the pics ......

As i have mentioned to the people that attended i will organize another drive around the Cotswolds on the Romantic Roads (route for tommorrow)so we will be looking for more people to attend that one in the future if it is half as good as this event it will be well worth attending .....

Many Thanks All Carl

Wow you lucky person you ,One of the nicest citroen's ever made to look at ,once worked for a guy in Maidenhead and his next door neighbour had one Lovely motor with a great long bonnet must be weird to drive after the A2 ........

Yep, had a really great day out and saw plenty of places I'd probably never have seen otherwise. There's some really pretty villages on this route so anyone else who gets the chance really should come along next time.

My 5yr old son Ollie really enjoyed the drive so much he didn't want to go home, especially after he befriended Wooly's two daughters! He managed to get them to hitch a ride in our car instead of Wooly's - like his style!!

Hats off to Wooly who put a lot of effort into organising this event. The five cars that made it had a great run about but it would be really good to see a few more out next time around. It's quite a bizarre experience when you drive along in your little A2 and heads are turning left right and centre. Seriously, the amount of attention five of us generated driving through places was really something else - just image a convoy of 20...!! Castle Coombe's on the way so, come on, get your diaries and maps out and let's see you all there.

I posted a couple of pics on my gallery page before the September '06 page was added to the social section:

So I'm also posting them on the Sept '06 page on the social section along with a few others... (you'll have to wait for them to be approved)... Hope you like them...

Cheers guys, a nice day had by all

Looking forward to the next drive, and also the CC meet in October :)

Will get my pics off the camera tonight now my iBook has been repaired and will get them uploaded to the gallery if poss :)

Cotswold drive

I was unsure how the day would turn out but I need not have had any worries.

The weather was good, the company was excellent as was the drive and scenery and the expressions on people's faces when they saw 5 A2s going through their villages was interesting.

The chance to line up the cars at the Pittville Pump Rooms was excellent and we all enjoyed the opportunity to 'show off' our cars.

If you were there you will have enjoyed it if you were not able to be there you missed it, but I look forward to a good day at Castle Coombe.

Regards

Malcolm

sounds like you folks had fun.
Is anyone up for a meet in the Yorkshire Area?

I live in Leeds, but could venture as far as deepest derbyshire or north yorks.

Hi - I've removed the silly moderation requirement for images. Let me know if you spot any sillies in there...

It's long, heavy steering at slow speeds, needs lots of road to slow it down (and to turn it), and is noisy at speed. However, it keeps you alert when driving and brings a smile to people's faces when they see it. It makes you realise how much we take modern cars for granted.

Looking forward to the next social.

I've just uploaded one of my pics, need to shrink the others a bit before uploading (although they're pretty much the same as Dubbsy's!)

I'm really sorry that I missed the Cotswold drive, as I explained to Woolly, I was in Wiltshire but in the Volvo. Also, would you believe I had severe food poisoning on that day, and if left to my wife it would definitely have been a blues and twos jobby, but I decided that it was safer to suffer than go to hospital. Of course if I had attended, someone would have had to get my vehicle back to Chippenham. So being in the Volvo was a blessing in disguise!
Looking forward to CC in October , but it is conditional as those who know me are aware. If Peter drives the laps at the end of the day I will bring my brown trousers this time (well it's not his car is it).
