Here's a trivia question for you all, how many screws needed removing to remove the following:
Upper A pillar trims
Upper B pillar trims
Lower B pillar trims
Rear seats
Rear door sill trims and wheel housing trims
Boot cross panel trim
Boot side panel trims
C pillar trims
D pillar trims

Answers on a postcard etc etc and I'll give you the correct answer in a couple of days!

A Lucky guess (stab in the dark) how about 80 ?[5]

Ok - to put you all out of your misery (yeah, right!), the answer is 5!!!!

Yes 5 screws - that's all!!!!

And all of them are in the boot area (3 on back trim panel and 1 each behind where the retracting cover goes.

Everything else is on clips, or is an interference fit.

WAS : A2 TDI SE 2001 Ebony Black Pearl (The Little Tank!)
NOW : A2 TDi 90 Sport, OpenSky, winter pack, ISOfix, all-round fogs, climate control, all-round electric windows, Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54, genuine HID xenons and red leather! Not to mention CCC Tech chipping (118bhp), K&N air filter, all round tinting, all-black headlining and retro-fitted cruise control and GALA.(The NEW Tank). Retro-fit Bose coming soon!!! Now if only I could find a TT 3.2litre engine.........

Your the man the reason i said is i was sitting in my A2 today looking at the head lining and thinking how the hell do you get to the screws It was a trick question Should have known there would be clips as well LOL !!!

The 5 screws is to get the parts listed off - to then release the headliner itself requires the removal of 19 more screws, only then can you take out the main part of the lining.

The black headlining looks damned cool in the flesh. might be a bit much without open sky though.

You need to change your sig Jamie - you've now got cruise. What about the engine remap? Did the New Tank persuade you to have it done?

Never mind the 3.2, don't think it will fit - how about a Hayabusa!

1.4 Petrol Special Edition, Ebony Black, grey leather, heated seats, climate, opensky, five spoke alloys for SWMBO (Replaced a 2002 1.4 Petrol SE) Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 iCDTi for me.

The 3.2 will fit - need to mod the engine mounts quite a lot, but after that, it's quite straight forward, might even try shoe-horning DSG in there too!!

Busa engines are great, but only great in cars weighing less than 6-700kg or so - the A2, light as it is, still comes in at about 1100kg. Don't think it'll be a goer, plus, as long as I get a genuine Audi engine, it'll be covered by the warranty!!!!!!

Crying shame to spoil a bike engine by adding unnecessary wheels. As you can tell I am a biker. My father in law has a busa, holy crap now thats proper fast!

The A2 would lighten a bit by taking the standard engine out, would not come down to 700kg but would still be a lot faster than the standard one.

3.2 DSG is great in the TT, in the A2 it would be wasted as the traction control would be on all the time - needs four wheel drive!

Right - so let's add quattro as well.

So far, that makes an A2 + 3.2 V6 engine + DSG + Quattro. Think a tenner will cover it?

b****r it then - I'll just take a new TT instead! In fact, I've already signed the 'intent to purchase' form with my dealer, for the new TT due out next year. Probably hold off until the diesel version comes out though in 2007.

Yes - it was specc-ed up like that - I believe that it's a very costly option to have red now!
