Anyone had this problem (photo attached)

Hi ,

Has anyone had this happen to their A2? Windscreen seal damage.
I noticed it before the cold weather so it's not ice damage etc.
Can't think how it could have happened. There is a clear mark in the plastic though.

Should i fill it with black silicone? Will water go through it into the engine bay or dashboard area?

What's happened there is that water has gotten under and frozen, forcing the plenum chamber cover out.

No need to faff around with silicon, just remove the wiper arm, bonnet and unclip the entire cover, clean out with a paintbrush and soapy water, dry and re-installl everything.

The cover is quite fragile and will split very easily - as I did when updating the washer jets which required fitment of a new cover. Try and pick a warm day and be gentle
