Audi A2 book!

I'd be up for one of those for sure ... almost tempted by the German but mine goes back to A-levels, well over half a lifetime ago.

It does seem rather obvious that there would be a high demand for an English version? A minimum print figure would be an advantage and it could be taken from there. I could imagine that the demand from the Club could easily run into three figures?

The A2 was never sold in the USA. That limits the demand for an English language edition to a point where it is probably not commercially viable unfortunately.

I'm tempted to start a poll on here to gauge interest. There are other English speaking European cousins who may equally benefit too.

With powerful computing, it can be surprising how how easily a publication can reprinted in another language? All photo's remain the same .... I'd like to remain optimistic about this ....

It's not that simple. It involves a complete re-organization of text on the page, never mind 50 A4-sides worth of text translating (at 0,5€ per word). The English is shorter than the German. If there are notes on the images, do you annotate them? If so, how? with "direct translations"? which you then end up editing many graphics and photos, too... this is something I hit regularly in my day job. It's not a trivial undertaking.

I've asked about a run directly, let's see what happens.

Thanks, Bret, for giving that very useful information! I am optimistic in life and I'll just hope that an English text version is produced .....

Having heard back from my publisher friend, he gave me pretty much the advise Brett has with above. If the American market is closed we might need to "up the ante" a bit to get them to consider it.

I'd personally be willing to pay more than the current price to get an English print version. Rather than speculation, I'd rather hear back from the publisher and if there is a window that details that 'x' number are required at 'y' price, we can start to scope appetite.

I would be up for one. A lot cheaper, even if the price is higher than the original, than buying a third A2 to satiate the habit..

I too would want an English version if it were possible. Personally i bought the German version as i doubt the publishers would execute a huge redesign for perhaps 25 - 50 members on here. I hope i'm wrong though, would be nice if out of the goodness of their hearts they cater specially for us UK A2 fans.

I will start a new thread regarding this. As there is still a slim chance of an english version
