Great stuff Mike. It'd be excellent to completely fill the allocated pitch. I don't think we've ever achieved that. Nearly but not quite! !

How many spaces are left so we can encourage some last minute interest? ADI is an excellent day whether you're a car addict, enthusiast or otherwise. You don't need to have a show car. Most of us don't ! It's just a nice day out with friendly folk sharing a common interest.

Yes indeed its looking like a great turn out again. I have 4 more pitch passes left. Also can i remind people that they need to pay the £2 to be in with a chance of years subscription to Audi driver international magazine - lets not also forget that A2oc is also awarding small prizes to a few members-everyone is eligible.
I will have tea/coffee on the go along with some warm food and snacks. So if your new to the socials why not let ADI be your first. cheers mike and yvonne

It's a while since I've been to a meeting, can I just turn up on the day?

Of course. Try and let Mike know if you can Craig. Only 4 spaces left and its a 2 quid pass for access to the pitch. An excellent turnout of A2s. Getting excited now ( yes I'm completely sad and A2 bonkers:eek:)

The prizes sound like a good idea, will it happen at every social? Is it in categories like best modified, most retrofitted A2 etc .

no

edit : qualification on the blunt response - we are a small club with probably 50 members who attend socials regularly. If there were prizes at every event it would 1. Dilute their impact 2. Result in the same people getting awards time after time. 3. Make us elitist towards those who attend socials when 90%+ of rthe membership don't and 4. It'd cost a fortune! The club can afford that thanks to the members but is it the best use of that money ?

I'd like to thank Steve who has insisted on paying for the awards out his own pocket this year. I've argued with him and been told to get stuffed.

For future awards I think they are best aligned annually to ADI or AITP but that's open for future discussion.

We will see how it goes.

The prize categories will be decided on the day (apart from the one certain award - Best A2)

There will be 4 other awards and what they are given for will depend on the cars that turn up.

I will be looking for cars that are either interesting, or just plain nice, not necessarily immaculate!!

There will probably be one for "Best Modified"
There MAY be one for "Best OEM style" (we are not having a concours version of this so it needn't be completely OEM, but one that is basically not significantly modified)
I would like to have an award for the "Best, well used" (i.e. not immaculate but a daily driver that is used and loved)

We will see what happens on the day and EVERY A2 that turns up stands a chance of recognition!!!
The amount of money spent will play no part in the judging (so mine is not in the running for any awards)

These awards are for the cars, not the owners or outstanding members. We MIGHT have awards for members and their contributions to the club (not meaning financial) and this MIGHT happen at the meal in Fort Dunlop.

This is just our way of adding an extra element or two to this great club.

Whatever happens, we really believe in this great club and intend to maintain the friendly and enjoyable experience!

Good idea about just doing the awards for adi and AITP but what are the prizes for ? Just so I know what prize to aim for next time

Hi Mike

Can I confirm that the meeting point and time for ADI will be the same as last year? Will it be the Dunns Lane Carpark SN14 7HU at 8:30am?

I think these are clear symptoms of premature anticipation. The only known cure for which is attendance at an A2OC social event. Take one large dose over the weekend and call again if symptoms return. :p
