Hi David,

I know there is 2 C5 Avant’s in a local breakers near my work. I’m next in the office if Thursday so I’ll see what I can do. Should be cheap and I’ll offer them for what I pay for them. These C5s have been there while to expect there to be mould but should clean up ok.

My armrest will be recovered in new leather and painted with some Volico to make it look brand new.

They certainly aren't £15 any more ? I just bagged a black leather one for just under £45 delivered. If I want to swap it to the other car with its combination Twist/Soul interior then I can get a replacement lid in Twist or maybe re-cover the one that's on it. A good enough starting point I feel :)

Hi Ian,

That’s a shame regards price and it does seem that I got a right bargain. It’s still cheaper that an A1 Armrest along with other available options fortunately.

I feel that they will be available at rock bottom prices in the breakers yards. I’ll see what’s available on Thursday as I might be able to source a couple.

All have found this listing for the armrests, Do not think they are OEM, but OEM only have a paper sticker with the part number on it so could be OEM. Price competitive and its new....

I got an A6 C5 armrest (black cloth, perfect match to my seats) for £15 a few weeks ago. It was sold as with a broken latch, it was in fact gunged up with what I suspect was orange fizzy pop residue.
I took the lid off and cleaned everything up and it works perfectly now.

Bargains are still out there then, we’ll done.

Keep your eyes peeled people.

I guess this thread might just take all the available cheap items though. I do recommend visiting a breakers yards as they all seem to have an obligatory A6 C5 in them. This sort of activity might be easier now restrictions are slowly lifting to allow us a bit more freedom.
