BMW M3 owner saying Hi!!

I think you need to get yourself and the wife of course to a social and there i'm sure a member with Koni's and remap would gladly take you out for a spin and you will be suprised what a difference it does make. A guy at work services 3 A2's and he did my cambelt last month and he's not stopped raving on about it, before then he was not impressed but after getting in mine he's looking into trading his 08 ford fiesta in as he say's his is guttless as anything and mine just wants to go all the time and handlse like a dream. I've got the 75SE remapped to 106(on a rolling road) by Stealth racing also 4 years ago and no problems, running Koni FSD's and -30 Wietecs on the front with rear ARB and i swap between 16's for the winter and 17's for the summer this year i got some TT 16's as these allow bigger tyres so increase comfort but keep the handling ;)

Cheers Phil

PS Welcome to the forum

Cheers Phil. Your car looks great. I am more and more liking the sound of a Remap! A bit of extra power and torque would be nice. I brought it up in conversation with the Misses last night. Here response was 'Let's get this running issue sorted out first, then we can think about it'! I better get cracking with sorting this boost issue out!

Thanks for that. That will be good ammunition for the Misses when I suggest it to her - Better ride quality! I have seen some people fitting Sport rear Springs to an SE and someone else fitting SE rear springs to the Sport! Is this all about ride height or firmness? Rough cost for the FSD setup?

Mainly ride height as the FSDs impart a lift on the front as they are 'generic' items for the suspension also used in the much heavier Polo/Fabia/Ibiza. Without care on choice of springs this can give the 'pooping elk' look with the front higher than the rear.

It's at this point may I include a mention for the Bilstein B6s? I have had these fitted, along with Cobra springs, and have had no issue with ride height with all for corners settling at -20mm. I find the ride perfectly comfortable now they have fully bedded in after ~3K miles and they only really give away their firmness on the really short sharp rough stuff.

There does seem to be subjective evidence the Bilsteins give a better ride then the FSD's and I will probably go for the B6's if my fsd's give up the ghost (they are looking a bit rusty these days....) Someone on the forum has gone down the budget route of using Monroe shocks and seems happy with the improvement over stock suspension.

Glad i went for Bilstein B6's as they are really comfortable and personally a lot better than FSD's imho with the conditions of some roads in my area. I do admit they can be a little firmer at slow speeds but they definiatly work at all other times, especailly when cornering on B roads and motorway driving it sits down like a much bigger car. I'm still on standard sports springs at the moment and I'm waiting to take delivery of these http://www.123spareparts.co.uk/cgi-...t=autoteile&suche=autoteile100113&FZGNR=17626 from Spidan if your looking for a good quality spring to work with them.

rear: SPIDAN # 49546

The general consensus seems to be Bilstein B6's then! To be fair I have heard nothing but good things about them. They are rated highly on the M3's too.
