I would add up the cost of these parts against the value of the car. Is there any point in repairing a vehicle if you were to lose money on a future sale ?.
You are of course correct, but I hate seeing a car scrapped when fundamentally it has (had) plenty of life left in it mechanically. Though looking at the damage to the crash bar behind the bumper (which has then punched through the bumper) it was a fair old impact...
Cosmetically it's not in great condition anyway so it really doesn't make economic sense on that front either but, I do like the thought of seeing if I can fix it
This is where my love of bangernomics and running older cars always fails...I can't help but spending 'too much' relative to their value to keep them going!!
I'll take a look around; if I can pick up second hand parts for a few hundred £ I'm tempted just for the challenge... In the mean time I do need to source a replacement car!
