Not ignorant at all. You’re bob on. You may be aware that this was available as a factory option from new;

however more ‘modern’ wheels are now being fitted from A1’s A3’s & A5’s, including this flat bottomed type that I have in one of mine;

There are one or two clever souls who have even fitted heated mfsw’s but for us mortals @timmus tends to be the go to man for this modification.

MFSW makes such i difference I think. It’s a tactile thing in terms of making the car feel nicer and more modern but also such an enhancement ergonomically.

Agree I use the functionality of mine all the time
