Comfort blinker

It makes the indicators flash 3 times at a slight touch, so basically for a quick manouvre you only have to tap the indicator quickly rather than turning it on then off again.

hence a "Comfort" function

Ok,thanks!

Yes Dan i think i was one of the first people to fit this as at the time there was a lot of toing a throwing on which one would work, so one day while on the German forum i noticed some posted a reply and on his sig it had Komfortblinker, so i sent him a PM and he replyed back with a link i asked if this was the plug and play and he said yes 5 min job, which is what i was after as some of the others tat you have to mess about soldering and stuff never seem to work on the A2. So when i posted photos and little right up it became the mod of the year. With them now selling on Ebay it makes it a lot easier as if i remember the website was in German and that was a bit of a pain to order on so this looks a lot better

Heres my original thread

Ha Ha can't believe it was that long ago i fitted, still its good people doing it after others as it opens it up to newer members that missed it first time round

I'll eventually do this too, Phil, but I've shovelled money into my A2 of late, so the Komfortblinker will have to wait.

I fitted mine one year earlier, and it was the plug&play type from ebay aswell :)
I didn't know at that time that it was such a rare beast :)

I also fitted an "universal" one to my MG TF. It works very well too.
It was plug and play at the relay side of the loom, but the other side had to be wired up to the indicators (I used the side ones)

Well I also didn't want to do all my mods in one go and then have nothing else to do to the car for the next 3 years :)

Got the following to install in the coming weeks:

DIS cluster
Larger wash bottle with level monitoring
Two-tone horn
Komfortblinker
New fuse box cover
Replace missing front winglet!

I fitted a Komfortblinker about three years ago. Fantastic little bit of kit. Fit and forget, but it's so handy for motorway work and roundabouts, etc. There is no excuse for not indicating anymore...

Wow one year earlier you must have been one of the ones posting on one of the other threads i was posting at the time, its a great bit of kit and its funny how you get use to things as all the cars at work have it on and the other day had to use the bosses X3 and went to indicate on the motorway to overtake and it didn't have it how crap are they lol

Phil

PS Dan your fuse box cover is only a cover you just clip it in right ? when i did mine didn't think there was anything extra to fit

Very true...
I fitted it to the A2 and TF because our main car (Freelander2) has this feature and I was so used to it that I tried it all the time on the 2 others, with no success of course.

Update - Komfortblinker fitted. Blink blink blink.

Straightforward job, took me about 45mins from start to finish, only really made fiddly by the limited access - child hands would help!

Firstly I disconnected the relay and extracted it from its holder and attached it to the CumCartec loom outside of the cubbyhole, but then I found it was not possible to relocate the OEM relay back in the holder and stow the additional CumCartec relay. So I unplugged it all again, put the OEM relay back in its holder, connected the CumCartec loom to the OEM relay PLUG, then plugged the CumCartec loom into the re-seated OEM loom and then routed the CumCartec relay round down into the void space on the left, which seemed to work.

Putting the cubbyhole back in revealed I need to do a bit more cable wiggling, double-check the relay connectors were secure, and then all back in nicely.

The supplier dispatched it quickly too and its a quality part so no worries there.

Nice little mod.

Yeah the original relay stays in place, this relay goes in series with it using the plug and play loom.

Having spent the past 3 weeks and 2500 miles driving a Seat with this facility i suddenly realised just how useful it is today.... will be ordering mine tonight!
