Cruise Control retro-fit..

Retrofit cruise control

Hi everyone,

I've been reading up on retrofitting cc to the A2 and would love to get this done to mine. I'm moving down from Glasgow to Loughborough for work and will definitely appreciate it for the inevitable mile munching when returning north at the weekends. I see that Skipton does an excellent job and was wondering if it can still be done? I have heard from a few that the cc kits are becoming harder to get a hold of these days... I have a 53 plate 1.4 TDi .

Any advice would be welcome as I love the car but hate the numb right foot I get when driving long distances!

Also this forum is great! I have learnt so much about the wee car and it has helped with many DIY jobs.

Cheers,
Murray

Mike can do this for you no problem.

He did mine for me and did a first class job.

Send him a PM and I am sure he will help you out.

Cheers

Hi, I am new to the A2OC and this is my first post reply

The indicator stalk on my A2 TDi failed and my Audi Dealer replaced the stalk with the cruise version at my request. The car was due to go back in this week for cruise activation. Now they say they can't do the job because they cannot get a factory instruction method for the A2 (it is available for all other audis). I contacted an independent cruise retrofit company, they confimed to me that job can be done but they want £189 for call out, loom mod and ECU programming.Seems a lot after what I spent at the dealer. Does anybody know where I can complete the job less expensively. Can I buy the loom separately?

Go over to Manchester to visit Mike Hill (Skipton01) if he is available (although he has been pretty busy recently). Alternatively, see if you can set up an installation at one of the Socials.

It's a while since visiting the forum as I sold my A2 a couple of years back. I bought the kit as a whole so it had the loom with it, fitted it myself (very easy compared to my Passat and Golf tdis) and just hooked up VAG-COM to enable.

There's a loom listed separately here http://www.germanautopartsdirect.co...t_info.html?osCsid=p12o55mc767glt25v4rmgktm57 which is just short of £26 and lists A2 but no further application details.

Sorry I can't be more help.

For everyone's information I have just been mulling over the wiring diagrams in ELSAWIN and upto 2002 1.4TDi A2's appear to have the White connector in the passenger (RHD) footwell. But 2004 onwards don't. Instead they use a brown, blue and green connector which share pins with other devices (airbag to name one).

So as above, be careful with what you are doing and if using ELSAWIN (get a copy if you are attempting this) be careful to select the correct year wiring diagrams!

I am in the process of transferring my Audi dealer retrofitted Cruise from a 75PS 2002 1.4TDi to a 90PS 2004 1.4TDi, incidentally this was retro fitted by Sheffield Audi, but it was about 10 years ago so the tech may no longer be there. Mike (Skipton01) would be your best option in the UK, but on the continent Audi dealers should be able to officially retrofit, especially in Denmark given the tax on new car factory fit options.

Does anyone know the VAGCOM programming required to enable the cruise?

With Mike currently absent from the forum, I'm offering a cruise control fitting service, done to Audi standard, of course. Please feel free to send me a PM.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks, I have the black leather & alcantara sports seats too, nice aren't they ;) ... I've just added white stitching to freshen them up, only £30 :)
