Ebay Cruise fitting service

No, they're kosher and a few members have used this service.

He is now £25 more expensive than me and doesn't give a 2 year warranty, but apart from that and the possibility of 'grey' parts, I believe that the chap offers a decent service, far more handy for those in the south of the country.

Cheers,

Mike

I'm planning to pay a visit to Skipton Towers, possibly towards the end of August to have Mike fit it on mine.

I've just got to convince Mrs Glock of the need to drive over to England rather than fly, with at least one overnight stay in the Chester area.

I will, under no circumstances, look at his car as I believe it may result in taking out a mortgage to pay for all the work I'd then want done!

Cheers

Thanks for the compliments - I'll put the kettle on for you!

If anyone does want to travel up to have any work done, there are some superb places to stay/visit in the area, as I'm on the foothills of the Pennine moors.

I've had visitors from Glasgow, Edinbugh, South Wales, Devon, Somerset, Stevenage and Cambridgeshire to name but a few and no-one has been less than fully satisfied yet (he said, trying not to blow his own trumpet!!).

Although Hazzydays is no doubt more convenient for some, please bear in mind that he is no A2 specialist and can't give you a test ride in Tank, or discuss any other aspect of our beloved little cars.

Cheers,

Mike

Skipton, any thoughts of coming down south to London?...I tend to get vertigo north of watford......surely you could line up enough takers of cruise control to make it worth your while? :)

There is always the possibility - if we can get 5 people together, then I'll do it!

I will have to charge an extra tenner each for the travelling (so £160, not £150), but all else remains the same, genuine UK parts, fully inclusive, 2 year warranty and a diagnostic scan thrown in.

If you can organise it, I'll do it!

Cheers,

Mike

I'd be in for that.... just south of the big smoke.... not sure if there are any other little jobs that need some TLC but I'll have a think...

Well that's one then!

There'd have to be a central meeting point and if I'm doing 5 cruises, some appointment system should be used, or people will get bored of waiting. Also, the time it'll take to do 5 cruises, plus travelling will mean that extra work will have to be another time.

So, who else is in?

Cheers,

Mike

I'll be getting the pleasure off seeing Tank in two weeks, when Mike fits cruise to my cruise, looking forward to it. Get the Kettle on i'm a coming

Cheers Phil

Hi all
I've been scouring Ebay for a few things (as you do) and came across someone selling a service for supplying the parts and retro-fitting Cruise to all drive-by-wire Audis.

Has anyone heard of them/used them? Is it kosher, or does this smell of rattus rattus?

As Mike says, he's fine. I took my car to him in Feb 07, when he charged me £140 cash. He's an ex-VW or Audi technician. He knows his stuff and works really rapidly and thoroughly. Still works fine after 16 months.

I would obvioulsy be interested, I am quite sure a chap local to me, would be interested after a recent conversation......not in any rush, so that is 3......just south of London/Kent borders is also suitable.

I reckon I'd be interested in this "group install" for us Southeners, not in a desparate hurry, but sign me up.

Just to add to the positive comments, Mike fitted my cruise a few months back and I would highly recommend his service! There's pretty much nothing he doesn't know about the A2 and I have to say I learnt a lot about the car at the same time which was great. Also, I travelled 400 miles that day to get it done. The tea and bakewell went down a treat too :) Top fella!

Oh dear! What have I committed to?

If that is a firm 5, then the next step is for you to arrange a day that's best amongst yourselves and we'll take it from there.

Cheers,

Mike

Count me in and I would also like to volunteer to hold the cruise fitting session at my house in Purley, Surrey. I am only a few miles north of the M25 and I am just off the Purley Cross junction where the A23 and A22 meet - which helps both those coming round clockwise or anti-clockwise on the M25. I have plenty of parking outside on a Saturday or Sunday and I am available for most weekends over the next few weeks. I might even think about getting a few beers in! What do you reckon? Any dates preferred?

That sounds like a good offer to me.

My travelling time would be about 4.5 hours, so realistically, the first cruise fit wouldn't take place until 11am-ish. It may be an option to get 10 owners together over the weekend and I can stop over at a hotel on the Saturday evening, then do the remaining 5 retrofits on the Sunday.

MPG lover, do you make number 6? If so, that's only another 4 to go.

Cheers,

Mike

hmm... only problem is that I'm up north at the weekends.... not sure whether you can look at staying on to the monday ????
