I’ve got one of those... but it’s in the boot.

I have connected it to the 12 V power supply at the Radiator fan control unit.
I am unsure how to do this (need a picture!) and it is dark and raining right now, so...another method to open the boot is to use a emergency start battery booster or charger with cigarette lighter socket plug. Once plugged in and switched on the electrics should work enough to open the boot using the switch on the door to unlock the central locking and get in the boot.

Dear All - I am the new owner of a 52 plate 1.6 FSI and it powered down whilst unlocked as I was about to start up. (PS I started a thread then found this one). The cable on the back window doesn't seem to work (even with someone outside trying to open the boot whilst I pull the handle. (It extends about a foot so I am not sure it is properly attached). The key locks the drivers door and the boot but all the other doors now unlocked. I guess I can lock these from the inside?
From dieselfan advice:

From John L advice:
- Just about to order one of these off Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Streetwize...DFMHER6G89C&psc=1&refRID=TST992FH8DFMHER6G89C but it is £20 which seems a lot. I don't know enough about 12v circuit. Does it definitely work? (as I assumed the cigarette lighter was a 12V out not in).
Hope you can help.
NB I have a ring battery charger so if i could just get to the battery...

Hi Edward - I've tried this - think it is disconnected as it extends a foot (I had someone trying to open from outside at the same time)

Stopped raining overnight and it lit up and started first time. Hmmm....
True, but once I had it open I checked the connectors to the battery and one was loose. (Schoolboy error!) Hopefully this has fixed problemCould be a warmer day? Batteries don’t like cold...
