Koni FSD ride height

Does any one know how much the FSD kit raises the ride height on standard springs. I am considering fitting the kit to my 1.2tdi and don't want to change the standard springs or raise the ride height.

i would just like to thank AwesomeAl for offering the a2oc this offer and in my case also sorting out the weitec springs (-35/-30). i will post up before and after shots to show the lowering results and hopefully no rear end droop( i can sort this if it occurs). i am looking forward to loosing the diving under braking from the front suspension and also the crashing over pot holes now i have gone up to 17" rims. cheers sumo

Do note that according to FSD and suspension-guru Schnelletrecker's latest info, you want to trim the front bump stops much less than 30mm. In a PM to me - which I'm sure he won't mind me quoting - he stated:

"In your case of a 1.4 TDI pleasant looks in combination with Koni FSD will be achieved with:

- Weitec 35/00 (identical to Weitec 30/00) sport springs, i.e. the rear springs remain stock
- the front Weitecs compressed by 15 mm each
- shortening the front PUR bump stops by 20 mm each"

After a lot of consideration, I have decided not to pre-compress the front springs. Bearing in mind that FSDs raise the front of the car by 15mm, this means the lowering will be only 15-20mm, which I prefer. Accordingly, without pre-compressing the springs, I will shorten my pumps stops 15mm.

Skipton1 mentioned to me that he didn't shorten his bumps stops at all, and to no ill-effects. He has 30/00 (or actually 30/10) on his, I believe.

Rememeber too that all springs are different, as made in different batches, so gentle personal R&D is the answer, I recon.

At the end of the day, I'm following Skipton's lead with my conversion this months. Weitec 30/00 (35/00 - same thing) plus Audi Sport springs on the rear (-10). No pre-compression and trimmed front bumps stops only. New strut bearings. And then 195/55 tyres all round on 16" 6-spokes. Job done. Hopefully.

Hope this helps.

Just a thought, i'm doing my anti-roll bar (ARB for short) at the sametime as every year MOT pick up on ARB bushes, but its just the sleaves coming out, so fitting the updated ARB with the collars on and new bushes, so with FSD's, ARB and link rods plus ST bearings that should be that for some years to come hopefully

Hi all,
just tried ordering fsd's from awesomes website, new price of £428.

I have emailed Al pointing out he said prices would be held to the end of the month.
I've tried a few times tonight and can not get the £362 price.

was also after springs as well @ £77.

Might as well but I might not be now:confused:

will let you all know how it goes.

Not sure how you guys who have orderd the Koni's at the offer price have got on with your order. I put mine in 2 weeks ago and have just contact "Awesome" to find out why no delivery to be informed that Koni have no stock and will not have any untill end of September.
Now decided whetehr to cancel and try and get stock elsewhere.

Hi Colin,

I do apollogise that this has happened to one or two of the orders put in toward the end of the Offer period.

As for canceling the order, You are more than welcome to Cancel and are entitled to a refund at any point of the order up until them being dispatched from ourselves.
Unfortunately you will find that all retailers are currently in the same situation with these due to said Koni Holiday period.

Again, I apologise for this but it is not in our control.

We did however supply the last 6 sets of Audi A2 FSD's in the UK to customers both on here and off another Audi based forum and did not anticipate how popular this offer would be on these specific shock absorbers.

Any other questions, feel free to ask or give me a call on 0161 776 0777 (opt1) I'm here to help! :)
Kind regards, AL.

Hi Al,
Can you confirm it's end of sept?
I spoke to Sarah and need some other work (cambelt, wheel bearing etc) doing. Deposit is paid, but she said early sept for FSD's.
If its end of sept then I may ask you to do the job in two steps as currently the car is on light duties due to cambelt and wheel bearing.
Sarah's stock of free Yorkshire Tea depends on your answer

I had this in June they said 5-6 weeks with in the week they arrived, i ordered mine through Larkspeed but as i found that all dealers order from Koni so none of them will have any, i would stick with your order and you maybe suprised how quick they come back into stock

Phil

oh I am sticking with the order. It's just that at the moment I am hardly using the A2 as the wheel bearing is on its way out, the stearing pulls to the right slightly and the wheel is off centre. Add to this that the cambelt is 6 years 51000 miles old (mainly motorway) and you can understand why the car is on light duties.

If I can get it back to A1 (A2?) condition early sept then thats fine, otherwise I may need to make two trips to Awsome. One for the wheel bearing and cambelt and another for the FSD's.

The poor Volvo V40 is picking up the A2's milage at the moment. That car is on 154000 miles now!

Hi mate,

We spoke with Koni UK yesterday on this issue and have been confirmed by Koni UK that we will be receiving our many sets of Audi A2 FSD Shocks late September.

Hope that helps! :)

would be nice if we are not charged until despatch :)
it gives me another few weeks till I need to get me bumpstops etc.:p

Unfortunately we can't work this way. We have to charge people when the order is taken to make sure that payments go through and do not get declined. This also ensures that we are not left with stock for things people don't want.
I apollogise that we have to work this way but as far as I'm aware, 99% of mail order companies do the same.

We will get the parts to you as soon as humanly possible!

I hear what your saying,if people cancel its not fair on the company who have ordered.
Its usually just the big boys that can do it,Pc world, argos, amazon.
Are they sent direct or do they come through you?
I expect my Springs will be sent at the same time as I bought them dependant on getting the fsd kit?

It depends on how the order was made.

Usually if it was the dampers alone that were ordered, we will have koni send them direct to your address.
If they were ordered with springs, we will have them delivered here as we already have 10 sets of the springs on the shelf awaiting to be paired up with FSD Dampers!

Cheers, AL.
