Induction kits good or pointless?

To answer your earlier question, if you have a red I on the TDI on the boot, it's a 90, if it is chrome then it's a 75. We had our Audi remapped at Stealth, and the performance and drivability is great.

per usual, the sure fire answer of 75 vs 90 tdi is rear drum vs disc brakes. Same goes for 1.4 vs 1.6 petrols, in case the cars are de-badged like mine.

As skipton said I am thinking of goin back to standard just because of the noise but then some times I have the windows down, put my foot down and smile with the sound (although I do have an exhaust aswell and myn is a 1.6)
and about the boy racerd a2, just look at myn!!!! But I get alot of coments and they say it's a nice touch with what iv done. And performance wise it breathes better and I find a bit more torqe at the top end of gears :)

Also while we are on the subject of chips, can anyone tell me if stealth can map my car in the "stage two" map for cars with exhaust and induction kits. Will it be the same price and will I get more than the average I think 9 bhp the 1.6 gets? Eventually I will get a remap and because of the owners club I will go with stealth, it's far away for me but you have to think of the drive back:) just want to know if I can get any more bhp than the avverage 9.

Thanks

Scott

Hi Scott
I'd talk to Vince and discuss the mods before booking the remap. Its quite possible the exhaust and induction kit have made no difference to the performance other than making the engine sound a lot more powerful. He will advise if its worth doing the map with the mods or if its best to return the car to standard before taking it to Stealth. I suspect a 'stage 2' map would only apply if you significantly improved the performance by fitting new cams and a gas flowed head etc.
Let us know how you get on

Cheers Spike

I have read the stage two tunes the exhaust and air kit, then their is a stage three for when you have gone mad with the engine like cams and bigger turbos intercoolers etc. Atleast thats what I have read, I'm no expert, but yes I will get on the phone to them to see what I can get done whenever I get round to doing it.

thanks

Scott
