And as has been the practice over my ownership, each milestone brings a new addition .
All credit for this example must go to alanm, a long time club member, who until recently hadn't frequented the forums until another member posted a wanted advert. (so glad he did).
Not wanting to step on toes and following the motto "shy bairns get nowt", I contacted alanm to ask if it would be possible to have some details on his car as I had been searching and enquiring for some time, looking for the right one and dismayed at what was available.
Alan reassured me that no toes were being stepped on and forwarded some details about his car.
At the end of August 2016 it* had a long life service at Lincoln Audi (112,267 miles), at which a new cambelt + water pump were fitted (as was done at 60,000 miles). They also supplied and fitted a new clutch and factory gearbox a few years ago. The Opensky works perfectly and the next MoT is due on 31 August 2017.
It's a 2003 Azure Blue Tdi SE 75 with: Climate; DIS; MFSW; Factory cruise control; OpenSky; Auto-dip rear mirror; Electric front mirrors with heated glass; Electric lumbar support; Audi OEM Satnav; Symphony double DIN radio/6 CD Changer/Cassette unit. Audi rear park sensors + Audi OEM detachable towball & electrics; bespoke rolling road Jabbasport remap; Armourfend (now called Xpel) PU film paint protection; Two tone leather retrim - including door cards (designed and fitted by The Seat Surgeons, Poppleton near York); Koni FSDs + 00/00 springs; Komfortblinker; Audi A2 storage boxes (platinum coloured to match the car’s interior trim); Audi A2 rear drinks holder/storage unit in platinum that fits on the tunnel between the rear seats; new boot false floor; ABS boot tray; Audi rubber all-weather mats front & rear. A couple of years ago Lincoln Audi supplied and fitted a new instrument display panel (the central LCD display in the original had become blurred);
I fitted a K&N air filter soon after I bought the car in 2007;
When I had the Koni FSDs fitted I went for the recommended set of Weitec lowered springs. I soon returned to a new set of standard springs as didn't like the resulting stance of the car and the front engine under-tray getting scratched - I had a new undertray fitted.
I've updated the DX navigation system with a genuine Blaupunkt/TeleAtlas 2007/2008 CD of the UK & Ireland. This has traffic notices built in but these are in German.
I've replaced the original battery with a Varta Silver Dynamic one.
The description alone blew me away and I new instantly I had to see pictures, unfortunately alanm wasn't forthcoming in his years with the forum to add pictures, so searching his history brought nothing, but as promised the following day these arrived in my email inbox.

I recall sitting for some 30 minutes thinking wow:-o and then proceeded to call Alan to confirm he had found a buyer from the pictures alone and to congratulate him on the condition of the car and gave him my guarantee it would be coming to a new home to be cherished like it was accustomed too.
Monday couldn't come soon enough, but eventually I got to see the car in the flesh, and the photos don't do the car justice, (which most will no, A2's generally look better in pictures when advertised).
Basically to cut a long story shorter,after a long test drive, and an even longer journey home, I am now the very happy owner of this outstanding example.
Another big THANK YOU, to Alan & Val, an absolute pleasure completing this transfer of ownership with such nice people.
I understand it was hard to watch the car drive away, but you can rest assured I will continue to cherish it.
Adding more pictures below.
