New wifi dongle codes

Yes Paul it is. Note that you will get EML light on dash with -error when scanned inlet manifold set points not reached.

Thanks Mike! Yes i have the EML and set point not reached code.

Will get my long nose pliers out and give it a wiggle!

Yes Paul you can now buy sea foam on eBay again. It had become impossible to get hold of. There are two types one is a petrol additive and then there is the spray-I recommend the spray it even comes with a neat straw attachment. Cheers Mike
There is of course the possibility that the sensor has failed on the end of the manifold next to the arm. I'm stuck at work so unable yo photograph the assembly. Cheers Mike

I have also been looking at getting the engine hydrogen -carbon cleaned. There is a company close to where I work (mobile franchise type service) that came and did a mate of mines rs4 cab. The method is quite simple it sprays a metered amount of soft water into the air way after the airflow sensor and this mist causes the carbon to come off. Very similar to how a cylinder looks sometimes when the head gasket has failed allowing water in. He has a very good reputation and photographs the cars and their big black patch of carbon from the exhaust. It costs £99 per car and offers a multi car discount - it takes 30 minutes to run the cycle and it is reported to do egr valve -inlet -valves -turbo hot side.
I will try and link his website as I only have it via Facebook at the moment. Cheers Mike

A picture of the sensor location would be great, thanks.

I have some Wynns EGR3 Professional Spray here and have also put the Wynns Professional Injector cleaner into a full tank of Tesco Momentum to clean the injectors.

The car drives fine, i just want to remove the EML as its annoying me.

I am going to view another A2 on friday, so i will take my long nose pliers and OBD device.

Is there anything else to check on the FSI's when buying?

Ok, my EML is back on... The manifold plastic rod is not broken, Wynns EGR3 cleaner used and car driven for 100 miles to clear any carbon out.

Im thinking it could be the solenoid or pent? Is this the solenoid for the A2 FSI and part number?

Part 7

Is it easy to get to, to change?

That image I beleive shows the tdi lay out with the air shut off valve (anti shudder)
I would try another spray with since hot engine but also let the revs build so it opens the flaps - it's not easy but can be done. It is possible that it could be a faulty sensor. Unfortunately my spare inlet assembly is missing the sensor and actuator as it's still at a2cars. Once I have them back I will post a picture of them.
The sensor is right next to the actuator arm - it fits on the end of the rotating shaft that lifts the flaps. Square in shape 30mm x30mm 10mm thick. Hope that helps. Cheers Mike.
