Our car history!

Quite interesting that many A2 owners have a common past with PSA Group, Ford and Fiat. :D

I learned to drive in a Fiat 131 1600 Panorama Estate (dad had Fiats since I was a nipper) In 1988, he traded up to a Ford Sierra, hence my foolhardy affinity to the blue oval for a while until I saw sense!

The Good The Bad and The Ugly:

1969 Mini in pea green!
Mk2 Ford Escourt (complete with a VERY loud exhaust )
*Had a bit of a Vauxhall fetish for a while*
Vauxhall Astra
Vauxhall Cavalier SRI
Vauxhall Cavalier SRI 130
Vauxall Cavalier Cabrio(not so proud of)
Vauxhall Cavalier GSI
TVR S2 2.9
New Mini Cooper
Lotus Elise
Audi A4 Avant 1.9tdi
New Audi A4 1.8t Cabrio
Audi A2 tdi

Sorry about the last entry as I'm currently living in Australia and the cars here are either s**t or overpriced and definately wasn't bought with the heart.

Hyundai Tucson:eek:!!! Before you strike me down, the A2 was never sold in Oz and is the only reason I didn't take it with us.

I always like these threads.

87 Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR - good first car but the bodged rust repairs started to fall off quickly
91 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia - did me well, sold it to my Mum
97 Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport 2.0 8v - awesome car, ultra reliable, pulled like a train, economical, did lots of track days where it suprised everyone, joint best car with A2, wish I'd never sold it
85 Pug 205 1.6GTi - got it for free to turn into a track day car but never made it to a track, it nearly blew up after an oil change
94 Seat Ibiza 1.4, was completely stripped out and the handling was spot on, purely for track days and slaloms etc. Took an unbelievable amount of abuse without complaining
88 Ford Fiesta XR2 - for track days and slaloms, stripped out again, suprised a few people on track, started to rot too much
01 Seat Leon 1.8T Cupra - dissappointing after the Ibiza - thirsty, water leaks, bits always falling off...
NOW - 02 A2 1.4 SE - love it to bits

I don't have an A2 yet
but fingers crossed I'll sort one out soon!!

my rather short list:

Vauxhall Astra 1.3L - 1st car brilliant car, there wasn't anything I didn't know about it! :D
Tiger super six - built myself
Smart city-cabrio - top spec brand spanking new, a graduation present to myself :D
Smart Brabus Roadster - a 'new job' present to myself :D
Land Rover Defender 90 - because the missus thought it was dinky :D - although I will admit I did really like it, such a huge extreme from the smarts!
Ferrari 348TS - my weekend toy :)

technically I don't have a daily runner at the moment, I'm driving the city-cabrio again which I sold to my mum. hence on the look-out for an A2

Ok, well mine is a fair bit shorter than all of yours as i am rather young:

1999 VW Polo 1.0
2007 Renault sport Clio 197
2005 Audi A2 Special Edition

Told you it was short !

Chris

Ok here we go, cars I've actually bought and owned - bit of an Audi bias as you can see! The year denotes the year of registration not when I bought the car!

1983 Audi 80 Sport (with the Audi sport stripes, sadly got rear-ended)
1985 Audi 80 Sport (loved the 80 Sport so much I bought another one!)
1991 Audi S2 quattro (significantly modified - seriously fast motor car)
2003 Audi A4 Avant V6 quattro Sport (smooth but boring)
2003 Audi A2 TDi (current car, love it!)

The longest period of ownership was the S2 which I had for almost 5 years and I still regret having sold, but there you go.

I think I would put the A2 up with the S2 as my joint favourite car - for completely different reasons but in my current situation and with fuel prices, traffic levels and speed cameras as they are the A2 makes more sense!

I'll add mine then....

1985 Vauxhall Nova 1.2 - Green, had it resprayed Black
1990 Vauxhall Nova 1.2 - Blue
1990 Vauxhall Astra Cabriolet 1.6 - Green/Cream Roof
1993 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 8V - Grey
1993 Vauxhall Frontera 2.4 - Maroony type colour
1995 BMW 318 - Silver
2002 Audi A2 1.4 SE - Amulet Red
2002 BMW 525d Sport - Silver
2003 BMW 330 Sport Convertible (Still Owned) - Silver/Blue roof
2000 Volvo V70 T5 - Blue
2004 Audi A2 1.6FSI Sport (Still Owned) -Black

I also have a project car -1968 Morris Mini Traveller......I say project, bought it four years ago, put it in the garage where it has stayed ever since

Since I passed my test in 1982 I've owned

1972 Fiat 500
1980 Fiat 127 sport
1983 Mini 1000 (modified)
1980 Mini 1275 GT
1983 Nissan Micra SGL
