Proxy parts in Holland may be an option if you are in Belgium?Seriously thinking about selling the car now, as the replacement part will be as old as the original... Not sure how long it will last.
Thankfully it happened right at my front door. Imagine if you're on a road trip and from one moment to the other you lose your gears.
Yes indeed, all working againTHis is great news! With 2nd hand gear cable fitted yes?
Still on my must-climb list.In case you're wondering, that is indeed Mount Etna in the background
Agreed - we live at the bottom of a very steep hill that ices up during cold snaps - to the point where a 4x4 on summers can really struggle to ascend or controllably descend. Not a problem for both our cars which are both shod with the CC2 however.Just my quick two cents on the Michelin Cross Climates that I have had on my car for about two years now. We had a bit of snow last week here in Belgium.
They cope very well in the snow, only once did the ABS light come on when I was driving off a parking lot in 1st gear (I know, I know, I should have driven off in 2nd gear to avoid the wheels spinning). For those of us who don't have a separate wheel set for winter tyres / can't be bothered switching tyres twice a year, they are more than capable when it comes to our Western European winter weather!

Downside is - they seem to be more puncture prone than other tyres, unless it’s just the environment we live in - see my recent “today I” posts!
