Project peperami - (A2Steve)

And i'm now back to Ipanema brown. Unless for some reason the bodyshop can't do the colour then it's now definately booked in for Ipanema.

I know exactly how you feel.

You only have to look look at my Project thread to see how many times I “knew for certain” what colour I wanted, only to change my mind several times.

It is a scary thing to do

It's juat that the colour I choose will completely change the way the project goes.

Ipanema brown will then lead to a cream interior/TT baseball seats, low and polished wheels.

A two tone modern A1 colour would have gone a complety different direction and would have had to have been more sporty focussed. Not the way I want to go.

Stripping the front bumper off last night confirmed something i had suspected. The 18 month old intercooler has blown at the seam. Looking for alternatives now as unfortunately my budget can't stretch to Tom's one plus a respray.

Something I've looked at recently is the intercooler from a Discovery 2. it looks to be roughly the right size and the ports in roughly the right place. haven't got round to looking at measurements but its not far off i don't think.

Just the windscreen left to remove now and it's ready for paint. Ideally the quarter windows should be done too but it was getting too expensive.

Just ordered an intercooler to replace the obvioulsy blown one you see above.

It's from a freelander mk1 2.0di and from calculations is an almost identical size just deeper. If it fits and works, after a couple of months i'll upgrade it to an alloy one.

All those years of stripping a2s is finally shining through Steve. :)

When you are thinking of ordering the intercooler I may be in a position to order also... Assuming you're going for a tom spec?

No mate, i'm trying a different route. Ordered a freelander diesel one.

Final job before paint....windscreen out. Off to the paintshop tomorrow.

Unfortunately the screen cracked so that's another £180 to the bill :-/

oowe that is a right pita, i feel for you
don't forget the car insurance root likely reduce the cost to £75

Not sure how I would explain a missing screen though :)

At least this way I know that a cheap chinese piece of glass isn't being fitted.
