Hi can someone please help I have been getting the front of car carpets soaked with can only be rain water , where I have had to take them out to dry .
I have attached photos where the windscreen connects to bonnet pointing in red where I have siliconed it to see if that could be causing it. Attached few other photos aswell where I took carpet out passanger side .
I mainly noticed it over a month ago where my glove box was soaked as well and couldn't understand how water got in there. That seems to be ok but water still soaking up under carpet as no air getting to it difficult to dry.
Any thoughts tips can help

Hi there and welcome to the forum :)

Have you checked the drains on the underside of the bonnet? Take it off the car exactly as Audi intended (instructions will be in your owners handbook if you need them), but beware it may be a bit heavier than you expect! It sounds like the plastic chamber underneath the air vent may be full of water, if so it would be getting into the car where it connects with the fresh air intake when the bonnet is in position. Pour any water out (away from you!) by tilting the bonnet's top corner points down.

Once it's empty, turn the bonnet over and look underneath. You'll see two rubber mouths poking out, these are the drains in question: squeeze them at the ends to open them up, they are probably full of moss & dirt that's stopping the water from exiting. You can pull them off to give them a good clean out, but note their orientation first and put them back on the same way round.

While you're there, check that the two collector cups are in place in the engine bay, which sit under those drains when the bonnet is on the car. A round one should be on the right, over the gearbox on the end of a pipe, the other more square one to the left down at the front of the bonnet opening next to the rubber seal. Googling "A2 underbonnet picture" will get you something to check with, those locations are the same on every A2 regardless of which engine it has.

Thanks for reply, I have check those two rubber drains attached to bonnet and they seemed fine poked them with screwdriver doesn't seem obstructive

No sunroof or glass roof, no water has been from top or doors as always dry , can only be from bonnet area and finding this area foam soaking up water where I have marked in red

Is the leak worse after using air-con?, if so it could be the drain which is in the passenger footwell.
Check this thread for further details:

I do normally use it when even though it needs to be gassed up as not cool in winter

Take out the pollen filter. If it is soaking then the water is coming through the fresh air inlet. Also check for any missing grommets in the rear upper left area of the scuttle area.

Sorry not to jack this thread, my OSS is shut permanently as it does not function but it seems like I can hear water above sloshing when I do sharp turn. Is there a way checking drains guttering without having access to OSS? MY bonnet drainage is clear as I have cleaned them. Thank again guys.

The bottom of the door card is wet and mouldy. When the door is opened it seems to release water and as long as you keep draining it, it doesn't come over the cill onto the carpet. It's definitely an issue with the door/window seals or whatever. If you feel the inside of the door card, the foam is soaking. Any thoughts?

As I answered on the other thread.......

First thing to check is the drains in the lower edge of the door are clear and free flowing. The water could either be coming in around the door weather seal or the weather strip along the door glass area..If the drains are blocked the water builds up inside the door then finds its way between the door and door card. Make sure the door glass trim seal is clean and not damaged to reduce the amount of water that can enter there. As the door is in two parts you need to ensure that the lower part is a good fit against the seals and the upper glass frame is also a good fit. The seal itself should be in good condition and not torn or badly cracked / split. Also make sure the path is clear for the water that drains out the lower door edge can escape over the sills. All rubber weather seals respond well to being cleaned / lubricated with Gummi Pflege. I prefer the stick version.
Other thing to watch for is if the keys had been previously locked in the car and someone wedged open the upper frame that could well be the source of the leak.
