Rolling Road/Air Museum/Curry Meet

Please, congratulate yourselves all for turning out and helping to make the day the success that it was.

As mike has put it i can only echo his comments it is the members of the A2OC that make it what it is.

Best wishes to Carl and his brother in law

I had a brilliant day and i am still stuffed to many pompadoms i think!!!

Heres to the next one what ever it may be ??
see you all their

regards

ROBIN

:D Just want to add my thanks to Robin and Mike for a great day out on Sunday.

Very much enjoyed the Museum and then the Curry.

It was nice touch parking the cars under the mighty Vulcan. Many thanks to the Museum for letting us do this.

Also well done Darren for "fixing" the weather for us!!!! ;) Had a Anticyclone in the car on the way home Darren! No sure if it was the weather, curry or both.

Look forward to the next "Night of The Long Nanns"

A Grand Day Out

Thanks to all for a great day out. The museum was a great idea.

The last meeting cost me £100 and odd quid - for heated mirror glasses, front and rear stowage "upgrades". This one is set to cost me more ...

I'd already agreed to by the Bluetooth adapter of Skipton on the day ....

I'm very grateful that skipton01 has lowered his car - I have always thought that is just what it needed. ... £300.

And, now I have the Bluetooth adapter, the RNS-E/dash upgrade has to happen. ... £nnn

So,
awesome planes,
nice pint of Marstons pedigree (don't get that where I live)
a mountain of popadums (a lot of us skipped lunch)
and a fab chicken madras!

Thanks all for getting together. Will be tricky to beat Sunday for a follow-on event, but I'll be there!

Now, Driveforward, now about those springs ...

Just a thought ...

The sight of those A2s underneath the Vulcan, ( http://www.a2oc.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=813&c=50 ) put me in mind of a Thunderbirds episode, where small wheeled vehicles drive down the runway and let the giant "Fireflash" aircraft land on them - they act as the undercarriage.

Mentioned it to a friend and he sent me a link ....

Apologies to non-Thunderbirds addicts ...

We should set this up for the next track day!

.. the A2 has certainly loosened up with a few more miles.

Hmm. so good to let the car put on some miles

Doh!

The Castle Coombe meet made me buy the bodykit, bulbs and the heated mirrors (still not here  ).. I'm now definite for remap and tints and very tempted by suspension - just a little worried about the rears given my wheels are 1/2" wider and it's close enough on Mikes already!

HI ALL

SWMBO is not aware of my remap ....

... she did comment that "... the A2 has certainly loosened up with a few more miles...."

If she comes to the next meeting, I might have to spill the beans. I'm sure we couldn't do a full day without mentioning it!

Hmm. I'm so in denial, that I missed the £295 off my post Castle Combe run-down. :)
I Like it thats the sort of thing id do but i always get found out LOL !!!!!

Hi Steve,

I know exactly what you mean mate - I swear I had an extra 25bhp extra on the trip home - who needs a re-map...;)

Hi Darren,

Things must have been really bad in my A2, my speed camara detector kept falling off the windscreen!!

Still, managed to get home without incident once I engaged my afterburner:!!!!!!!!!!:D

Steve

Having been lucky enough to see a Vulcan flying in the late 80's, it is wonderfull to see this magnificent plane take to the skies again. I hope that they can just keep the funds going to keep it in the air now.

Cheers,

Mike

Fantastic news, it's great to hear stuff like this, when something is rescued from simply 'rusting away' and put back where it was meant to be for future generations to see and appreciate.
