My car 'Scrappy' (also known as Alexa) had been rescued by me, it needed a lot of clean up work on the plastics as to the scratches. In an conversation one day with A2Steve he said do the tablet mount plastic in gloss black, and to make him happy, I decided to do just that!
Then I followed on to do other plastic parts with same paint. My car is always an experiment, like or not, its mine all mine I tell you
Paul I sanded them to key them, there were some parts that were sort of 'gooey', I mean if you ran you nail along it, it would lift the coating on the plastics, was weird, and they were the beige/twist colour originally, there must have been some sort of reaction with something in the past. I sanded them, cleaned them, primered them, painted gloss black and then lacquered them to protect them.
All the softtouch painted parts have to be sanded down to bare plastic first.
The primer/paint/lacquer was bought from local car spares shop in cans, make is Hycote.
It's all easily changed if need be
