Ive just realised that my A2 will be at the fabricators (after 4 months on a waiting list) for its new turbo back system. I drop it off on the 6th April

Ah, that's a shame mate. I would say you could have come in with me, but the full family are coming in Frankie.

Please add me to the list Steve, thanks, happy to help create some sat nav ITN and GPX route files if you need me to.

Cheers Nige. I'm keeping the route quite simple this time compared with last August. That was just too much driving in one day. I also know the route quite well so shouldn't have too many wrong turns on this one :-D

Cool! it is also for us foreigners to remember/recall/rerun the route at another time, and helps if we get split up, so let me know, I can always knock one up anyway, just send me a route turn by turn or scanned in sketch. Dont worry if not, I am really looking forward to another run out over your way!

Will do. To be honest, the hardest part of this planning is finding somewhere for 30 people to eat in the valleys on a Sunday that's not a kebab shop :p

I'll need to book for the Saturday night as well - with the caveat about the weather, a cancellable booking sounds appropriate.

Where are my fellow travellers from the wrong side of the border thinking of staying? From the last event in August, I can recommend the Premier Inn in Merthyr for a quiet location and a good room and breakfast. Or there's the Travelodge which is cheaper and practically next door to that good Chinese buffet that we ate in, but that's right on a busy leisure centre.
I think I'll be going for the Travelodge as I've got quite a few trips around at the moment

I’ve booked to stay on the Sunday at the premier inn at Merthyr Tydfil they are a really good price £36 for a no amendments booking or £48 for flexible booking (cancel up to 1pm on the day) for anyone else who is thinking for staying

That's good but do you get a breakfast? Also, what if it DOESN'T go ahead because of bad weather? You'd need the flexible booking @ £48 .... Also, the drive is on the Sunday, so wouldn't you be wanting to stay on the Saturday so as to meet up at around 10 A.M. on Sunday morning? (I've previously done this and drove home on the Sunday evening .....)

No David breakfast is extra @ £9.50 And yeh the £48 booking you get a full refund if it doesn’t go ahead

I'm booked into the Travelodge. The Premier inn was showing a bit expensive as I'd need overnight sat and sun with a 6 hour each was trip. I can always see friends if it doesn't go ahead so I've done no cancel or amend. Looking forward to it ?

I'm really struggling to get somewhere who will take us all for food on a sunday. The place I had in mind said that they don't take advance booking because they could fill the pub 10 times over on a sunday.

I'll keep at it, but the last resort will be a Chinese all you can eat or a picnic if the weather is great.

Any objections to the above?
