I lived literally ½ a mile away from the road for 2 years and probably didn’t go over it more than 8-10 times as the wife was too scared so I used to go the back way from Ammanford to Trapp, then overlooking Carreg Cennen Castle on the way back to the other side of the pass.
You come out on the little road just after the big hairpin bend, long way around but a nice drive.

Ok, so here's the planned route in photo format

We will meet for a 10am start at B&Q carpark Merthyr Tydfil. As you enter the carpark there is a smaller carpark to your right, we'll meet there.

We'll then head via Ponsticyl to the Abercynafon reservoirs, albeit we will be at ground level

It's a nice and sensible 1 hour 40 mins in the morning and about 40 minutes in the afternoon

Now that's all we are waiting for is the weather forecast. Can I just ask those who have shown an interest to confirm whether they do plan to attend, so I have a better idea of numbers?

Guys, with apolgies and regret, I’m going to have to step down from this Welsh trip. That’ll teach me to offer to help with a deposit. Things have just turned a little manic.

I’ll do everything to make the next.

First forecast in for the 7th and it's not raining :-D

Will see what the forecast is like by next weekend and then we should be good to go.
 
I've now heard back from everyone bar @DJ 190 and it looks like we have 15 definate A2s attending and one Toyota MR2 :)

This is a good number because the convoy isn't too large to cause problems but still enough to make the public point and sometimes wave in confusion!!
